View Full Version : RS7 21" Tire Question

Having mechanic do some work on my car and I mentioned a strange vibration at 40+ mph. Looks like my right front Continentals experienced a weird defect.
Looking like I need to replace a pair or set of four tires. They are stock 21" Blades. I'm thinking Michelin as I heard they ride quieter. Any suggestions for 275 35R21? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190927/f68410b84994e0cabad1036757ec9201.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190927/05d4a7572968b1c210a7a52c07ae266d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190927/898a0149902fe1a3d71a0492d19b0ed8.jpg

+1. I had a problem with the standard continental tires delaminating too, I switched to 285/30/R21 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and they’ve been all round awesome.

Thanks guys. I've heard good things about the Pilots.
@kebabman you went bigger on the stock Blades?

If you've got the coin, MPSS are worth checking out too. I've got MPS4S currently, but have had MPSS on previous cars and loved them. I feel they were more confident cornering at high speeds. Not sure if it's all in my head or if it's just the fact the RS7 is a 2+ ton land barge

Correction on size. Look like 275 30/21. They looked really low profile. Lol

142956LOL Yep, exactly.
Looks like a lot of members have good experience with Hankook Ventus Evos also for nearly half the price of MPSS.

I think they will replace for you if you get tire from Audi dealer under warranty

Yes, no issues Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in 285/30/R21 on the standard 21” blades.
MPSS are just the previous generation of the Michelin top road tire, they’ve been superseded by the MP4S, no reason to buy the MPSS over the 4S unless they’re a lot cheaper on clearance or something.

I'm sure if you think back you will remember that pot hole that shook your entire front-end that cause that bubble and may have knocked it out of alignment.

Geez, that's horrible looking!
I'm running Hankook 275/30R21's on my ADV.1s. They are WAY quieter than the P-Zeros, less stretch and cheaper. Was right under $1k for 4 new tires installed with alignment from a local shop. I have put 1500 miles on them so far and would purchase another set when the time comes.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. The Hankooks seem great for the price unless I find a good deal on the Pilots

Any issues in the rain yet?

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Actually have another Conti with similar tread so will go that route now.
Getting my car back Thursday after, oil change, motor mounts and brake vacuum pump that went bad. Thankfully Audi Platinum.
