Pre-facelift A6 s-line conversion to the black optics S6 grille? Anybody done it?

I keep seeing yes and "not-so-yes"...anybody have a definitive answer? I am inclined to say yes it is a direct swap, but Im not positive. And yes--I HAVE searched the forums, so please don't bring that up--I went back over 2 years, did not see one headline that has "A6 to S6 grille conversion " in it...just could use some solid avice before pulling the trigger......thanks gents

The grilled are interchangeable with in the same years or gen version

I believe the caveat is: You have to have an s line or s bumper cover.

Or it will not fit, so in your case, you're good.

Going to bump this thread. I just sourced an OEM S6 black optics grille that I also plan on putting on my prestige A6 (with s-line bumpers of course) (both pre-facelift).

Question is: I noticed that the parking sensors are in slightly different locations - will the parking sensors from my A6 grille fit and work with the S6 grille (barring any color deficiencies)?
