View Full Version : Anybody regret the solid mount kits?

I'm on the fence with the solid mounts from 034 and Eurocode. I don't want the car to vibrate like 60s Buick, as I use the car every day. In the spirit of no such thing as a free lunch, what's the general consensus on NVH?
Thanks

I like them just fine in my A7. And beats having to replace the oem mounts continuously, even if spaced out. With the V8, I'd think they'd work even better. Certainly doesn't vibrate like a 60s or a 80s Buick.
Who makes solid mounts for the 4.0T?

Sorry, should have said solid inserts.

You mean the trans and diff inserts?
They add zero vibration. I've had those for over 25k miles.
I'm curious now about the rear subframe inserts but I have not heard anyone on here make mention of them yet, but has rave reviews on the 034 site.

There is zero NVH from the transmission and differential inserts.

I wouldn’t exactly say regret but I can tell you that’s you won’t notice much of a difference. Kind of because a lot of it’s benefit can’t necessarily be “felt” but yeah. It won’t be a dramatic change in any area

I have to agree with audibellybutton, I felt a slight difference when shifting (I use manual mode 99% of the time) but to me it was more like it felt different on each shift but I couldn't tell you exactly what was different about it.

Unfortunately I have not had that kind of experience. I’ve had them about 6 moths now and they were great at first and then they started squeaking over bumps. Had them greased/lubed up and they were great again, but now they are squeaking again. I’m actually taking them out this weekend and was going to post them for sale on here. Hope yours work out better.

I've had mine in for about 6 months, and I drive pretty spirited 80% of the time. No noise at all.
I noticed an immediate difference in shifts and power delivery. It was immediately apparent that the movement throughout the entire system from engine to differential was eliminated and power was being delivered to the wheels better.
Additionally the super clunky 1st-2nd gear shift calmed down quite a bit.
just my experience though

Good to hear it helps clean up the clunky 1-2 shift. I may consider getting some.
