Hi all,

I bought an S6 C7 back in may, today I had the bumper off to install RS6 headlights ans found this:

The steel beam is clearly bent, or does it really look like this normally? The car was sold to me as “accident-free” but if something makes such a dent/push, the entire front must have been replaced at some point, right?

Would appreciate any feedback on this.. :)

Chris

It looks too uniformly and precisely bent to be damage.

Aren't those crumple spots to absorb impact? Most frame parts have those in them

Audi over-engineered that part in the interest of safety. On the other hand, I remember coming across a thread where someone asked "why isn't my flex-pipe straight?" (pun intended) [:D]
sorry, just had to [:p]

Yeah can't exactly tell what angle you're at, but if I see it correctly it'll bend on both sides/be curved and follow the flow of the bumper

AFAIk that is just the way the end of that extrusion looks.

Perfectly normal. I stared at it for a long time when mine was apart too.

Thanks guys! The reason I was thinking this, was because my mechanic was of the opinion that it was a damage, the top of the front bumper also doesn’t sit flush with the engine hood (hood reaches a little bit over). Was about to contact the seller but that won’t be necessary now, luckily. :)

Thanks for clearing it up guys! :)
