I must say it's not as loud as I was expecting. It sounds awesome but yeah downpipes and tune down the road likely. [evilsmile]
The volume of the exhaust is pretty much correlating with the accelerator pedal. The more you press it the louder it gets. Given this is a luxury car and not a sports car I actually appreciate that part of it. Also great to have the CETE Exhaust Module to control the valves better.

Yes, if you come from an exotic/sports car background, you have to take things on this forum relating to noise or suspension harshness with a grain of salt from my experience.

Downpipes will def wake up the sound under heavy acceleration. I have the non res version and since adding downpipes I am actively seeking mufflers to quieten things down as it is too much for my taste. I am not an attention seeking high school kid in a mustang.

In that case, replace millteks low quality H pipe with an X. Softened out things big time on my non cat non res setup. At first i had to get used to the new sound but loving it big time now. No longer valently raspy overloud and more refined now :). Perfect sleeper combo.
As a bonus, my car runs perfectly again (before i tended to have turbo pressure build up).

Where did you get an X pipe that fit the Milltek system? Can't seem to find any that are 2.75 inch

Indeed i also couldnt find a 2.75" x pipe. Ended up getting a 3" pipe and added a tick rvs tube that made a smooth transition between the two. Not ideally but my engine likes it (before i had power stutter when i slowely build up boost, now it runs perfect!).

I did it as other member on here with his rs7 had the same boost built issue with the milltek and after x pipe it fixed itself on his car. I cant proof it but somehow the x drasticly improves the flow under certain rpms/boost for the better. I never check the knock sensors if stock milltek/catless got triggered by vibration of the loud nasty wild setup. Now everything is much smoother...

+1 on the x-pipe. I have the APR exhaust with mid muffler and APR downpipes and it was way too boomy, the x-pipe smoothed it right out. [up]

Very interesting testimonies.Let me search for an EpiPen and a shop willing to do the work. It is way too loud for me right now. Not happy.

Thanks guys! This is how the car should have come from the factory.
