Folks, Long time reader, first time poster.

I'm the proud owner of a '16' S7 that I bought when new. My warranty is now about to expire and I'm trying to determine whether I should be concerned enough to purchase an extended or aftermarket warranty? Car has 15k miles on it (I travel a lot for work), and don't expect I'll crank up the miles on it anytime soon. I see that Audi has extended the warranty for the crank case ventilation valve to 10yr/120k miles, which could be a very pricey fix, but what else should I be concerned enough about on this car (and at my mileage) to justify the expense of a new warranty?

Appreciate all thoughts and experiences from fellow S7 owners.

I would for sure. I bought my after market warranty through Ally. Have used it twice with no issues. 14 S7

I’m not a S7 owner, but the turbos are a known issue which I’m sure you’ve seen. Troy Dietrich at Factory Discount Warranty came highly recommended, and is where I bought my warranty from, and I think I got it for a very fair price. Check him out.

Turbos are a concern because of the oil screen. It would be less expensive to have the oil screen fixed than a full on extended warranty. The oil screen is the biggest issue reported on here and is maybe $1000 at the dealer or $15 yourself in the garage (its a big job). I was not impressed with the denied coverages of my aftermarket warranty on my old A6, sorry, don't remember the company.

Does anyone know when the G rev oil screen was put into production vs being added to the TSB?

Figured you’d be aware, just answering what I thought you were asking...hopefully that oil screen is the solution it is believed to be. I think we’ll know for sure as the newer models continue to age.

Troy sells Audi Pure (Safe Guard) and Fidelity (former Audi branded extended warranty). Hopefully for my sake, they are not the same that you experienced.

No worries, glad you could recommend a good warranty experience!

If you dont plan on tuning and want to keep the car long term get a warranty. If you want to unlock this v8 beast with a tune put money aside and plan to replace the turbos out of pocket with offering from like SRM with labor for around 5k tops unless you include next stage tuning.

I decided to put 4k aside for issues instead of paying for a warranty. I figured if I run out of funds in the kitty cause of issues I will let the car go.

Problem of not having a warranty is other can go bad and labor on this car is no joke unless you have options. I do.
