So I went stage one about a month and a half ago. I can feel the difference but it doesn’t seem like a lot from when I was stock. Raced my friends m3 the 0-60 by the numbers are at 3.9 did one off the line and a few pulls just rolling. He beat me everytime. Is stage one just not that fast or does BMW just underrate their numbers

A lot has to do with weight, your car probably weights almost 1,000 lbs more.

A stage 1 S7 is never going to beat an M3. My stage 2 S7 got totally obliterated by a stock M5 on rolling starts. Your only chance to win is from a dig and you get better traction from AWD.
All German manufactures underrate their power.
That being said the M3 weighs close to 1000 lbs less than an S7
Even with 100 extra horsepower you will not make up 1000 lbs....especially not in 0-60.

I feel like my stage 1 RS7 wouldn’t have had too much trouble with an M3, and at stage 2 I’m pretty sure I’d obliterate one especially off the line.

I'm really upset about this thread since I just got my S6 and cross shopped the M3 (F80). The M3 just lacked the luxury

S6 weighs a little less, like 80 lbs, other than that they are basically the same performance wise.
You could always upgrade to a GE AC6000CW (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GE_AC6000CW). I mean it has 6000 HP it must be faster to 60 than an M3....

F80’s are monsters, BMW really underrated their numbers. I think you’ll need atleast stage 2/3 to run with one. Theres a local one with just an E85 tune pushing over 640whp, killing almost anything it races. That said, i still love my audi’s

You are comparing a stage 1 S7 to a stage 1 RS7,.... that’s only 150-200 ft-lbs of torque difference there, almost the same thing, not. With stage 1 RS7 you better be able to beat a stock M3. My stage 3 S6 has embarrassed a couple of M3 drivers recently but they are still not that much slower. They just didn’t expect to see the taillights of such a big car like the s6.

My bad, I had it in my head that a stage 1 S6/7 was about the same as a stock RS7. I guess that’s not the case?

Well, you cross shopped the wrong cars for one thing...

Ya those M3’s are pretty fast. I raced a neighbor of mine in my prior stg3 S6. His had just a tune. His kept up pretty well with me although I was slightly faster.
I want one but dont want to lose awd.
I will highly consider the next M3 though...

The BMW F80 M3 has run as good as 11.6's bone stock with trap speeds of 119mph+. Most stage 1 S6/S7 cars trap a couple MPH less than that. A 2-3mph trap speed difference will be quite noticeable in a drag race.

Yep!!! About 1/2 second (or better in many cases) and 6-7mph trap speed in the quarter vs. a stage 1 S6/S7. A stage 2 S6/S7 would be considerably closer in comparison.

I came from a 2013 S4 that I purchased new, I actually thought really hard about buying an F80 M3. At the end of the day, I really wanted some more interior space and after having AWD with winter tires for Chicago winters it was tough to think of going to a RWD platform. That being said, the F80 M3 is way more performance orientated than the S6 in every way (short of performance in adverse weather). Now the S6 is a much more luxurious car with a better ride and considerably more interior room. I have a piggyback tuner on mine and it really woke it up. I'm completely happy with my purchase and know that while I'm still driving a quick car with some decent HP...... there are lighter/faster cars out there. I was playing around with a guy in a new C63S a couple days ago, we went at it a few times with him in front of me (couldn't get next to him due to traffic). He pulled me every time but that car stock traps 121-122mph so it's a given he was going to get away from me.

A stage 1 RS7 also has a lot more torque than an S6/S7. OlyS6 compared his stage 3 S6 on the same dyno to a stage 2 RS7, the torque difference was pretty crazy.

No stock M3 can sit next to a tuned RS7. And that's a fact. The math is very simple. A pumpgas stage 1 RS7 can run high 10s @ 126-128 all day long. An M3 to get close to that number needs tires, tune, exhaust, downpipes, etc.
And if you run good gas, then it becomes impossible, unless the Beemer runs everything plus turbos. And on the street from a start traction will be an issue for them almost always!

Idk about you but my S7 is stage 1 and I’m not sure if I’m going that fast 0-60

Go stage II. I beat my buddies stage II F80 from a 40 roll as well as a stage II F10 M5 from roll.. Granted he had shitty tires and was loosing traction at 60 mph still lol

is buying cars just to beat other cars the end game? lol
my s7 is just jb1 and a m4 had a hard time keeping up with me on the highway. yes i know the m4 on paper and numbers is faster than my car, but it was still a fun run when he couldn't catch me. and even though his car is faster than mine, doesn't make me want one
enjoy ur car for what it is. if all u care about is power, then its obvious u got the wrong car ;)
