My new project car! 13' C7 A6 Prestige

Whats up guys my name is Sam, I basically have too many Audi's and slightly addicted.... it really is a problem. However, I ignore my addiction and keep things moving haha. Basically, wanted to get into a newer current body Audi that is a little easier to play with than my current C5 RS6. Ive reached my goals with the C5 (quickest and fastest in the USA, and the world if you wanna be all NHRA official about it) it's pretty much bulletproof the way it sits now, so I'm gonna leave well enough alone and decided to put it up for sale on here and move on to the more friendly A6.

So, I started researching and of course you gotta have the LED's and all the goodies... in the right color combo.... which is a pain in the ass, I can't believe how hard it is to find what you want with these cars! Couldn't pass it up for the price and it had all the options I wanted, so I ended up in a Midnight Blue 13 Prestige, with light grey interior which I LOVE... I once had a pretty nice lowered 740i Sport on BBS's back in the day that was similar to this and for me it just takes me right back to that car. Love it.

Anyway... she needs some love right off the bat... looks like the previous owner was a president of a medical center and basically.. she curbed every damn wheel... for the time being this sucks but i always put wheels on my cars so i wasn't to worried about it, ill have winter wheels that's for sure!

Here she is... She will be getting fully detailed ad most likely ceramic coated.

My wife's C6 S6 that I secretly wouldn't mind being a modded 3.0t ;) But She also has a White B8 S4 I'm trying to dial in as well.

I've already done alot of the VCDS mods, these things really are nice cars!

BTW BONUS POINTS for drag racers like me.... cooled seats for the staging lanes! haha.

The interior in that car is amazing. It also has a muffler delete only and sounds wonderful.

Congrats on the new ride, you got a great spec! Some elbow grease and a Saturday afternoon can have that grey interior looking factory fresh; I have a similar titanium grey interior in my B8.5 and I love the color too, requires a little extra care but worth it!

Can't wait to see what you do to this one!

Thanks man! It cleaned up really good, last owner spilled coffee a few times so I gotta work my detail magic on the carpet but I’ll get it out. There is also that crease in the drivers seat I’m hoping a little heat will heal the leather.

The only thing I don’t like is the wood, it just has to go. I know how good carbon would look in there with the grey or even piano black. On my C5 I imported the blue weave and it’s beautiful when the light catches it the right way. Probably cost a ton for this platform tho being its out of a RS6 performance :(

I'm also a big fan of T6 Rotella, used that in both my old Subaru's. Haven't started using it in the A6 yet though, I've only done 1 oil change and went with liqui moly.

I have a few brands I like and use (usually Amsoil) but Rotella is just the easiest to get here locally. It’s great to get the job done quickly. I’ve heard the liqui moly is just as good in these motors as well.

Motor mounts are shot, she was vibrating pretty bad, having them replaced while I’m on vacation, when I get back I also have to do that coolant sensor/plug for the trans... why Audi put that thing next to the manifold/downpipe as well as in line of coolant spillage is beyond me. I’m probably going to relocate it to a cooler spot.

Yes we do, once my B8 S4 is good to go it’s a for sure thing on selling it, I actually already have it listed on here. Need more 3.0t mod money ;)

I am considering getting a 2012 or 2013 A6 3.0T Prestige. What are the major problem areas for the car and engine to look out for? How reliable are these engines for the long haul?

I am familiar with the prev gen NA V6 2.8 - 3.2L mostly bulletproof if taken care of past 300K mi. How do these supercharged engines do if you want to keep this car around long term? Thanks

Fixed the trans code for that little pump for cheap :) Usually $200+ for the factory parts. So we will see how long it last.

Just wanna mention that the eurocode testpipes are awesome because you can use those extra bungs for widebands! Haven’t seen any other company do that yet. They’re also the cheapest on the market right now that’s still quality, welds are reinforced. You will need those vibrant j hook spacers and use the smallest hole insert to avoid a CEL. They’re also very well made!
