Im looking at buying a used b8 airlift kit. I've seen where people say they run the b8 kit on a c7 but I also see where airlift sells a c7 kit new. So just confused on why people were buying the b8 kit and does it work?

Which C7 are you running it on? I just swapped my factory air ride S6 with Airlift Performance. If you have factory air ride you will need to order front upper strut mounts. Check to see if the PNs on the C7 kit are same as B8? I'm pretty sure I've also heard B8 kits work when I was thinking about changing mine air ride.

They do fit but the one fitment issue is the rear air line connection. On the b8 the air line comes in on top which isn't an issue but on the C7 there isn't a hole there. It's a solid body panel unlike the B8 that has a hole with a grommet already there. You could cut the body to make it work if you wanted though. I have been using using a B8 kit for the last few months and 0 issues.

I have a 2012 a6. Doesn't have factory air ride. The part numbers for the whole kit are different even when you start to break down all the parts in a kit. I'm guessing the reason people ran b8 kits is because c7 kits weren't available yet?
What did you do to make the rear bag work? I see the upper bracket is different as well. The main thing I was seeing was people saying you need longer bolts which may make sense with the upper bracket on a c7 kit being taller. Also noticed one fitting is straight and the c7 is a 90* fitting.

I did the b8 kit for 2 reasons, 1 yes the C7 kit was not made yet, and 2 I had aB8 kit from my car that was recently totalled so it was either sell it or try to install.
To get the rear bags to work, I cut the body so I could get the nuts on the top of the airbag and also the air line.i cant remember if I used a longer bolts or not.as for the fittings, as you can see from their site I'm sure, the B8 has the line coming straight out of the top but the C8 has the line coming out the side of the upper plate so you don't have to cut the body for the air line.

Awesome thanks. And front struts were no problem? Got any pics of your air management?

Front struts went in perfect on the bottom but I did have to use the lower rubber mount from the B8.the piece that fits between the strut and the upper aluminum bracket. The C7 rubber didn't fit well if I remember correctly so I used the one from the B8.
And right now I do not have any pics of the system. If there is something in particular you want just let me know and I'll try to get some taken when I can for you.

Well I got the kit super excited. So if anyone had pics of trunk setups let's see em. I love this setup visually but I ultimately probably want to hide my setup so I don't waste trunk space.

If you buy the right size air tank and run a single compressor you could prob tuck it all away in the spare tire well.

Here's the rest of my pics from ^ . My manifold is behind driver side rear tire, sitting on a shelf below the Bose amplifier. Got lucky with that location. Let me know if you got questions. 133615

Lol that's funny I didn't even realize that was your car. I love that setup since the first time I saw it. I may try to scatter my management throught behind all the liners on the side of the trunk and hang my tank on the rear shelf. Unfortunately the tank I got is bigger then I'd like so I may switch it to a smaller dimension tank like what you got . Ideally I'd really like to keep my spare tire.

Outside of the air suspension fault, what other issues do you experience? Any additional faults show up?

If I laid my compressors on their sides I could get my spare tire back in there. Could also locate my manifold in that empty space to right of batt if I wanted. Maybe if I decide to switch it up!?
