Anyone have any suggestions and how to do it? I have some black streaks on my beige headliner. Its a porous material so I am iffy on using a brush. Should i try steaming? Im concerned about heating the glue and having it come un done.

Get some detailers brushes and some mild soap (many choices here on soap). Work the dirt area into a little lather then blot off with a microfiber rag. Done. The soap and brush work the dirt up, then the microfiber towel removes the yuck. Note blot, not rub around!
Key is a good set of brushes. Plus a good set will be able to clean all sorts of small nooks later, so worth 10-15 for a good set.

303 Fabric Cleaner and a soft horse hair brush. Both can be ordered from autogeek.net If that doesn't work use a convertible top cleaner, like RaggTopp would be my next step. My bet is the 303 will work great.

I use Magic Eraser for removing tough spots.
