Hey, i have a 2014 S6 and would like for the exhaust to be louder but without installing a whole new exhaust like miltek. Any ideas and experiences? Have been thinking if remapping will do much good (more then when the exhaust is in dynamic mode now)

Thanks in advance!

downpipes with high flow cats

or

remove the suitcase muffler (center muffler)

exhaust sound is all relative. what sounds good to some, sounds like crap to another. some also complain of drone, depending how the exhaust is modified.

Jolle, if you were on a budget, upgrading your rear mufflers can be a great way to get a little more sound without breaking the bank. We offer a wide selection of universal mufflers that could be used to do this, the most common being our 4x9" and 5x8" Signature Straight-Through Series. A local exhaust/fabrication shop can usually knock out the work for <$100. If we can assist you in choosing a muffler model to use, please do not hesitate to shoot us a PM or call at 1-800-990-0905!

I went through this previously. Long story short, you need to get at least new mufflers. The oem non-sport mufflers are wayyyy too quiet.

I posted a few vids on youtube. Here is one:

Im also interested in a slightly louder exhaust note. I currently have the APR exhaust with center muffler. How easy is it to remove the center muffler? Does anyone know if its all welded together or if its connected via clamps?

Thanks!

Considering you're stage 1 in your signature have you thought about just adding downpipes and going stage 2? I think that would be a bit louder for you.

What do just the rear mufflers run, approximately?

How do you like the APR?

I have nothing to compare it to. But I like it so far. I think downpipes would seal the deal and make it a complete system and improve the sound.

Also curious about this. I'm planning to do a rear muffler delete and straight piping it. But if it ends up being too much, this could be a good option.

We offer over 100 different universal mufflers, but the median price for one is ~$100! [up]

Your inbox is full. Looking for a little better sound on my 2016 S7 with sport exhaust. Which of your mufflers would be the best option? Would they be a real improvement over what I’ve got?

Would you say that just the mufflers alone will help give a more throaty tone on a 2013 S6?

Our PMs should be cleared now. We typically recommend either a 4x9x14" or a 5x8x14" unit for most small to midsize cars. These have a great balance of tone and volume for a street driven vehicle. You would most likely be looking at a center-in-offset-out style like our part #11225 or #12225, but we recommend checking the dimensions against your current muffler to ensure compatibility before purchasing!

Yes! Changing the rear mufflers will make a significant difference to the overall sound. Our signature sound has always been deep and refined, but each person perceives sound in a different way. We would recommend checking out some Youtube videos of other Audis with our mufflers to see if they have the type of sound you are going for. If you have any other questions, please let us know!

To close the loop here, I went ahead and ordered the pipes that remove the center muffler ($500). Anyways, it sounds amazing now. The slight drone and rattle is completely gone. I think the center muffler might be a great option if you have downpipes and want to tame it slightly. But if you are ordering the full APR exhaust and don't have the upgraded downpipes then get it with the straight pipes (no center muffler). I think the center muffler resonating makes its way into the cabin at certain RMP's and its kinda annoying. Im 100% satisfied with this exhaust now.
