I attempted to launch my facelift A6 the other day with bad results. Traction control was off, dynamic mode was on and the brake was down while getting the RPM's in the 2000's (I forget exactly what it was at). After it hit the limiter in the 2000's, the car would bog down.
Is there a way to get the car to not bog down when doing this? What do you do?

My tdi goes to 3000rpm when I use LC. It has a slight pause when I release the brake and then flies. I would have thought your 3.0T would rev higher than 2000

Brake has to be all the way to the floor, foot has to be all the way down on the gas, and it should hold at 2500rpm. Cant let it sit for too long because it heats up the trans fluid and will bog down to protect itself.

I believe the car engine/trans needs to be up to temp, too.

If I recall correctly the auto on/off feature also needs to be turned off

I just took a look at my Owner's Manual to see what it said (2014 A6 3.0T). It does state "Applies to vehicles: with S tronic", but I do believe Tiptronic A6s have been able to do this as well. I have not tried this myself.
1. Press the traction control button off while the engine is running. The traction control indicator light will illuminate in the instrument cluster and the ESC: OFF Warning! will appear in the information display.
2. Move the gear selector lever to position D/S to select sport mode (S) or select Dynamic mode in the drive select.
3. Press the brake pedal strongly with your left foot and hold it down for a least 1 second.
4. At the same time, press the accelerator pedal down completely with your right foot until the engine reaches and maintains a high RPM.
5. Remove your foot from the brake pedal within 5 seconds.
Hope this helps!

US cars with the 3.0t all have the ZF 8 speed auto (not the 7 speed S-tronic dual clutch) and do not have an official launch control program. All you're doing is torque braking, which is the fastest way to get the car going, if it's bogging down you're probably holding down the gas for too long.
