1997 Audi A4 Quattro Laser Red saloon
Why $3200?
All OEM parts and maintenance kept all original nearly perfect interior unmolested A4.
2.8L 12v AFC motor currently 197k (175hp)
Quattro (awd) 5spd manual trans
Black perforated leather/pleather interior
Heated front seats
Dual front and side air bags
ABS
Dark walnut gloss wood trim
Sunroof
Bright beautiful Laser Red paint that pops after every wash
Electric locks and windows
Anti-theft system
Cold weather pkg. (heated side view mirrors, heated black leather interior, heated windshield washer jets)
Hard to find an all original A4 where everything is still in great shape and everything works. Even the original pop up cup holders are still fully functional. OEM Boge struts, not lowered on cheap racelands or any coils where the control arms were never properly reset like they should be (rides super smooth and not like a 1940’s tank), no useless cone filter or “cold air” or obnoxious exhaust. All stock and exactly why it runs so well. Main points are the high safety factors, awd for handling especially in northeast winters and rain. Mechanically sound and quiet engine and trans. Clutch grabs perfectly. Clean valve train (non sludge motor), Needs nothing, no CEL, no issues, new parts just installed in the last 500mi.
New rotors and pads all around
New rear wheel bearings
Valve cover gaskets
EGR gaskets and port cleaning
Brand new battery
New radiator and coolant flush
Timing belt at (155k, since everyone asks)
New control arms
New air box lid (crack in old one)
Inspected until 2021 in NJ but also ready to pass without issue for PA inspection also
Interior 9/10
Exterior 7.5/10 (only due to dents in the hood and scratches on quarter and New York style bumpers) I’d say it’s a 5-8 footer if that. But very well kept and all orginal, properly maintained with all good factory parts (Gladly inspect yourself) silent and well running good 12v, one of Audi’s most reliable engines (I’ve had 2 30v which are just emission issue engines and way more expensive to maintain and repair properly). Clean underside and wheel wells/suspension. Come take a look and the car will easily speak for itself. Great beginner car, super reliable daily driver, or even a perfect undestroyed base to start a project with. Very safe for a family vehicle. And mileage may seem high but it’s already proven itself at almost 200k and with proper maintenance it’ll easily grab 300k without skipping a beat. You could go buy any newer 2.0t and within its first 100k if you didn’t need fuel pumps or head work, you’ll probably need the recalled piston or ring work done anyway for a whole lot more money in shop and parts cost. Any questions feel free to ask, I have a ton more I could tell you about this car but won’t waste anymore typing space.
