It seems if the air leaks out of the airbags, the height sensors go out of range, throwing error. seems odd that the time you need the bags to refill it will not. if you happen to raise the body to get the sensor in range, the strut can come away from the shock, thus all air leaks out or will not fill. what am I missing here.
Thanks -----2004 allroad

Thanks -----2004 allroadSounds like a bad grommet on the bottom of the airbag. Also, bad airbag.

1. Buy a new airbag and replace
2. If you need a fix now, jack up the car so the bag comes off of it's seated position and check the o-ring for damages. If the o-ring is damaged, just get a new bag and replace (comes with new o-rings)
3. If the o-ring is good, then make sure it is sitting in the correct spot on the shock, and lower the car down to the ground while placing another jack under the upright and let the weight of the car seat the bag into the shock, and fill using VCDS.

Even after #3, if it still won't fill, then you have to get a new bag - unless there is damage to your shock.
