brand new to the Audi family. I picked up a 05 B7 2.0t for a daily. It seems to be someone else's problem they cleverly sold me. Right off the bat with a po455 and 171.
Then the low oil pressure indicator. Its pulling vacuum on the crankcase.
It has 107k on it.
I changed the PCV and it's less vacuum, but still pulling. Doing a 100mile oil flush now because the last person to change the oil threw out the guts of the canister and put a filter in it, to filter nothing. I got a new canister and reinstalled it correctly now going to see what I can pull out of the engine. The oil that came out was pretty bad and there appeared to be metallic paint in the filter area, nothing in the oil pan or on the oil plug. Hoping it's not the oil pump getting ready to grenade. I've also done air cleaner cleaned the mass airflow sensor put new plugs and coils on it. Low oil pressure kicks in under 1600 RPMs. Any ideas on where I could still be pulling vacuum? Some threads indicate that if you're pulling vacuum that could cause the low oil pressure problem. Hoping that's the case looking for some advice.
Thanks Phil

You have an 05 so make sure you replaced the PCV valve with the R revision valve. If you installed a P revision valve, it can cause the car to run like ass even with a new valve. It’s just the wrong one. Check the part number you bought.

And for your oil pressure problem, throw in a new OEM filter, not generic and do an oil pressure test. Spec should be 14-15 psi at idle and 45-60 at 2K.

Metal flakes in the filter isn’t good. If your pressure test fails pull the pan and check for worn balance shafts. Check the pick up tube for a blockage.

Maybe you’re talking about DV’s. I don’t know. What I do know is 2005 B7’s take a R revision PCV

I would check the cam follower as well, mine was bad when I bought my car with 69k miles. even with the revised intake cam.

Verify your actual oil pressure to make sure the oil pressure warning isn't a sensor error.

And make sure you have the Early-VIN PCV assuming you have the silver valve cover.

Also the crankcase should always be under vacuum, why do you view that as a bad thing? Vacuum is good...

Yup 2.0 t always has tonnes of vacuum at idle.
Sounds like you bought someone else's engine ready to pack it in.
Metal flakes and low oil pressure usually signal the end of life for any engine
I would suggest stop spending money on this car until you decide on oil pressure issue
Lots of threads here about that
