Power rear sunshade not recoiling

The rear power sunshade goes up and down just fine, but the last few inches the shade material stops retracting so it closes with a loop of material poking out. This just started happening, any suggestions or ideas to fix this? I guess I could rip it out and start poking around in there to figure it out but I’d like to know if this is uncharted territory, most of my search results were for the unit not moving... mine moves fine it’s just the recoil gizmo I think is weak, or something got stuck in the recoiled.
Any ideas out there?

Strangely it closed fine this afternoon, it's staying down I think till I re-cover the headliner
