I tried to connect my elm327 Bluetooth scanner to the OBDII port and it would not initialise, I believe it is a hardware issue with the port as I have had connection issues with my Ross-Tech cable and an odd code like pin30 low voltage. So how do I remove the port so I can confirm wiring to all the pins are snug, in the unlikely event I have to replace the OBDII port are they available as a spare.

You need to remove the drivers kick panel. There are 3 8mm bolts, 2 face the drivers seat at a downward angle, the third is in the fuse box.
Once you get the panel unbolted, the wires from the obd port and the footwell light will still prevent complete removal. At this point you will be able look at all the wires, and the port pops out somehow but I do not remember how, it is held in only by a clip.
Edit: this is everything you need: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=c5RuCb5DCZI
