Almost two months ago I purchased 034Motorsports new version of their nearly $400 catch can. There is a big metal bracket on the bottom of the can that does not line up with anything in the engine bay. When I called I pressed the appropriate buttons to get to technical support. No one answered so I left a message. Almost a week later I get a call from sales asking me why I called. [confused]

So I precede to tell the guy I spoke with what the issue was and he then forwarded me to tech support where I again had to leave a voicemail. Another week goes by and I get a call (from tech support this time) AGAIN asking me what the issue was. When I explained it he said he would get back to me. I then get an email asking for more information. At this point at was beginning to get a little annoyed that no one seems to know the products they sell. When I mentioned this to tech support he assured me that they make their own parts and know them in detail.

After about another week with no response about the issue I left a 1 star review since I have a $400 aluminum can that has just been sitting around for about a month. After the review is left I get an email from the owner of the company asking me what the problem was rather than just reading the review or reaching out to his staff to see what the problem was. [facepalm]

After going back and forth with multiple people within the company including the CEO, and sending them photos of the bracket in question, no one has a clue what it is or where it goes so the catch can is still in the box just sitting around. I was offered a refund minus a restocking fee and shipping. This company seems to be a complete joke as far as customer service goes.

Anyone else experience something like this from these clowns? [headbang]

Anyone know what the hell the bracket attaches to? This thing has been sitting here for nearly 2 months now and it would be great to be able to use it. [wrench]

From an administrator point of view, I can fully understand why they asked for more information via email. Telling them verbally is fine and all, but after 20mins of dealing with other customers who may experience the same kind of issue with different products after hanging up, they need the email for record and can pass it up and down to the applicable departments, because they can easily forget what your issue was, thus giving the applicable department incorrect or vague information, or forget altogether. Saying they have the worse customer service ever due to one incident and giving them 1 star because you didn't get the type of customer service you wanted, is wrong. I do feel for you and hope your issue gets settled, though.

I just got another email from them basically telling me to throw it away. [o_o]

Here is the photo. I can't seem to find the direct link to embed it.

Ignore all the dust. As I've mentioned, it's been sitting around for a couple months.

If only they supplied nice instructions, pictures, and a parts list.

My guess is that you received the wrong mounting bracket. It was probably an accident, and 034 will likely take care of the situation.

Yes, I read over that pdf riddled with spelling mistakes multiple times. I figured it was an old version since it depicts the older version of the can and didn't mention the bracket or several other of the other parts.

Looks to be an incorrect bracket, not sure if a bracket is needed on the B7 as I don't have an 034 catch can. If it's just the bracket I have absolutely no doubt that they will send out the correct one. We have been carrying 034 products for close to 10 years and they've always been great to work with, not to mention offering high quality aftermarket parts for our platform.

It took you two months to figure out that the bracket has nothing to do with the catch can?

Takes 30 seconds to check their site and read the DIY.

034 should leave you a 1 star review.

also this bracket is useless if you live on Nordic country. you have to relocate the can way lower to avoid freezing lines

I bought parts from them in November of 2018 and was notified that due to high order volume from "black Friday" my order procesing might be delayed for over a week. The order confirmation said if i needed to cancel or modify the order before it shipped I could log in and take care of it. Well no dice. I tried, but there was no link to modify or cancel the order. I emailed them saying I wanted to cancel and never heard back. So I called and the delightful recording told me to follow up via email which I had done. I called again and pressed the button for new sales and complained and was told it would be cancelled. It wasn't. It shipped out and I was charged. It took over 3 months to get a return label and my money back.

Now I buy parts anywhere but 034.

Conversely. I had issues with a steering rack from Detroit Axle and got my money back the day I called.

Audi Related conversely; I ordered a Clutch Kit from JHM but not the RS4 flywheel, and in the end needed the flywheel. Obviously you get a discount when everything is purchased together plus I bought the clutch on sale. When I decided I wanted the FW the sale was over but they offered me a discount to take care of me since I had ordered the clutch and some other parts along the way. Way nicer experience.

Good customer service goes a long way, and it's even more pathetic that a rep from 034 did not chime into this thread to address the issues/concerns.

Also owning a Wrangler, and a member of those forums, a similar occurence just happened. A forum member posted a thread about a local vendor sucking and overcharging for shipping. That vendor jumped into the thread and resolved the OPs issues, and also refunded some shipping charges. Nicely done by Savvy.

Just like Detroit Axle and JHM, Savvy and other good vendors do the right thing.

But I will say since 034 uses many vendors to sell through, like Hugh at Europa, one should buy 034 parts through Hugh, or a similar vendor, as they will provide the customer service and support that 034 clearly cannot provide.

You obviously have a reading comprehension problem. That is the old af version with silicon hoses. Which version did I say I was using? The bracket almost lines up with a bracket on the vehicle but not quite and there are wires in the way.

Great try though.

It took me less than 5 minutes to find this..

Your part is photographed in their product pictures, on the bottom of the catch can. However, their install guide(which is outdated and used for the older version "premium" catch can) doesn't mention anything about using a lower mounting bracket https://store.034motorsport.com/docs/pcv-fix-b7-audi-a4-stage-2-catch-can-kit-installation-instructions-034-101-1006.pdf

Im very sorry you feel you've had a poor experience with our technical support staff, as we strive to provide the best service we possibly can.

Upon looking into your case, I found that the main issue on our end was that we never received a single photo of the bracket in question until a month after you initially reached out to us, regardless of our requests for more details. Unfortunately it is very difficult to provide accurate support if we don't have more details, so we are hesitant to make any suggestions on actions until we have the full story. In this case, since in each email you discussed something else without much detail, and did not provide any photos for your complaints, we were not able to properly understand what the issue it was that you were having.

With that said, we would still like to do anything we can to help you, and with some more details on your situation, we feel we can figure out any issue you are having. We have already offered to provide a full refund for the product as well, but you have declined that, so let us help you out!

I sent the photo as soon as I could in between the guy "handling" my issue going on vacation for over a week, and everyone else not knowing their own products after claiming they know them in depth. The point is that NO ONE even knows of the bracket and that still seems to be the case. You are now the 4th person I have spoken to about this issue and I was never offered a full refund. You have my info. Refund it

Here's has this could have been handled by one person...

Our mistake, the bracket that ALMOST lines up with a part in the vehicle is not meant for your car.

Rather, right off the bat sales tried to sell me more shit, tech support didn't know the product, the CEO didn't know what the detailed review I left was about, and now you're blaming me. I even looked at other tutorials on your site and none of the poorly written pds mention it. The only solution I got (which was yesterday) was to throw it away. I've never dealt with a company that sells their customers an almost $400 product and then tells them to throw away a part that no one can identify.

I have had poor experience dealing directly with the company as well. I have had hit and miss experience with their parts as well. I always buy from ECS now (034 parts included) because their customer service has been top notch.

Customer is always right . Period !

Even when they could be considered making a big deal about nothing. Which I don’t think he is. Free part, extra part ,whatever , the company should have pretty much immediate answers as to what’s what in a kit.

I also agree with what others are saying, buy the product through reputable vendors who care about their business name , I’ve often found not buying from the manufacturer gets me better prices anyways.

Take that bracket and bolt it to something like a grill or , and make it a beer holder lol

I honestly didn't think that other vendors would sell competitor parts so I never checked.

Bracket seems extra and not necessary. If you need your hand held so tightly, I would not recommend buying aftermarket parts from online retailers. Go through a shop with installations services offered if you need white glove service.

I had a catch can on my car for years. No underside bracket existed, nor was it necessary.

Lastly, there’s a vendor feedback forum for you to air out issues like this, to the extent you really think that’s necessary. This hardly relates to the b7 platform because the purpose was not to discuss fitment, instead it was just to slam the vendor...

I saw no such subform and informing others of the way a customer service issue is handled by a company that sells after market parts for our platform is a perfect reason for this thread to exist.
