Coolant Drain Cock

I'm currently attempting to perform a coolant flush. I made it through two rounds before struggling to tighten the drain cock. I turn and turn without success. Does anyone know if these drain cocks are prone to this? Or is there any way to re-thread it? Thanks in advance.

You have to push it in and turn it. Its only 90 degrees to lock in place.
