Well I just took the odometer over 165,000 miles on my 2012 A7 and I must say it has been a blast.

We purchased at 141,800 miles and it has been a fun ride.

So far my only costs are

143,000 - new tires
145,000 - oil change, tire rotation
148,000 - problems with the front right brake rubbing. New caliper pins, caliper bushings, wear sensor, and pads cured my problems
155,000 - oil change, engine air filter, cabin filter, wiper blades, tire rotation
165,000 - oil change, tire rotation

Trips to the dealer or independent repair shop - ZERO

The tires we went with are Continental Control Contact Sport in the 19 inch variety

New they are 10/32s; now at 22,000 miles later I still have 7 - 8/32nds tread depth.

That's pretty impressive with the tires. I do not drive aggressively & I've never been able to have tires last more than 20k miles, no matter the car.

Can I ask where you purchased the brake caliper parts? I'm going to be replacing my pads & rotors soon & doesn't sound like a bad idea to replace everything you mentioned while i'm in there.

Btw, I just purchased my 2013 A6 in January with 98,800 miles on it. It's up to 101,500 now, so nice to see someone like you having so many trouble free miles.

Well my driving is 80 - 90% highway and I rotate every 10,000 ish miles so that helps with tire life.

As for my brake parts, you can get quality and inexpensive parts from Advanced Auto. I need to replace my rotors eventually as I think they might be original to the car based on how they were warn. I did not take a thickness measurement when I was in there for the front pads but I would not be surprised if they are warn down too much. If you can see it in the thumbnail there is a fairly nasty ridge on the outside edge of my rotor.
