Little off topic. Harbor Freight jacks any good? I need one and don’t want to cheap out on a safety tool. Needs to hold my A6 and also my Toyota minivan.

I have this one https://m.harborfreight.com/15-ton-aluminum-racing-floor-jack-with-rapidpump-60569.html?utm_referrer=direct%2Fnot%20provided

It's pretty decent. It can be found on Amazon as well. Lifts the car properly, but requires more than the 3.5 pumps they say.

I think mine is a 3T low profile that I bought from Harbor Freight. It has the quick raise feature that is nice.

I specifically wanted low profile with decent lift. I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse to lift as well as a Jeep Patriot to lift.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYup, smaller, lighter, easy to store(can easily be disassembled and put in trunk). I'm only lifting a corner of the car at a time.

Good point. I need it for brakes and I have jack stands so that’s probably enough for me as well. Thanks

I have one of those blue aluminum HF jacks. One of the wheels snapped off the first time I used it.

I use the Pittsburgh 3T low profile jack from Harbor Freight and know numerous other people who do also. Low profile is a requirement and this one has a 2.5" height at the jack pad.

The Daytona low profile 3 ton. Is actually pretty good for the money.

I would default to the beefier 3 to 3.5 Ton jack. Yes its slightly heavier and bigger but will never fail on you. I use it frequently and would never think to go with something smaller unless your goal was portability.

Agreed. A corner jack point isn't always going to work also. I've found situations where I had to jack from the control arm or subframe.

I agree on one of those Daytona ones.

If you've got the coin and do a lot of your own wrenching, you might want to look at the QuickJack, see this thread: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/848269-QuickJack-5000slx-fits-S7!?highlight=quickjack

It should lift your minivan no problem and your Audi and almost everything else in between. Plus, hardly takes any room and you can store it under the car when not in use.

I have a maxjaxx lift in my garage and jack and loads of jackstands and in all honesty all of them get a workout. You always need everything and having a good jack is key to do any small or big jobs. I would vote for the Daytona jack since with coupon its like 150 and will last for a very long time.

I have the HF aluminum "racing" jack. It's worked well for me over the last 3-4 years I've had it. No issues in lifting anything I've tried so far. Lightweight, easy to use. Keep in mind if something does break, HF will replace it for free, generally.
