Hi just wanted to share pictures of my new purchase with you guys.
I'm replacing my '09 A4 2.0T with this bad boy.

2013 S7 Prestige with 51k miles.
I also got a 3 months/3k miles warranty for the power train and electrical components and I'm planning to extend or get a different warranty.

Here is my question: what are the things i should look out for in this car that could fail and i could avoid with a simple fix?
Also I have a dilemma, after reading the posts about failing turbos should i replace the oil filter etc. basically invest in the car so it runs reliable OR should i get warranty for the car and just drive it and enjoy it without worrying?
I do about 10k miles a year and plan on keeping this car for couple years.
Down the line i'll probably get it Apr tuned (APR kit costs about $1300 and adds about 130 horses without any mechanical upgrades).

Mods that i noticed on the car:
newer 19" wheels from a Audi (not sure which one, maybe you can help?) with a custom black gloss inner paint.
masked off chrome window bezel with black gloss wrap (not the best job with little peeling, thinking about taking it off)
black out V8T and rear rings badges (again i like the chrome shiny badges more so maybe i'll go back to stock)
blacked out exhaust tips

About the exhaust do you guys know a nice sounding exhaust with open/close valves that I can control through Audi Drive Select/Individual. I'd love to have it as quiet as it is now when cruising and the opening it when on freeway I'd love if it would crackle.

Congrats! Looks super clean.
You should confirm whether the exhaust tips were painted or if the mufflers were swapped out for the 2016+ Sport exhaust with the black tips.. you could then just consider replacing the mid suitcase muffler with X-pipe for a bit more sound without affecting the exhaust valve operation.

2013 with 51,xxx miles. Make sure its not flagged with Audi from the previous owner putting a tune in the ECU. Buy that extended warranty and plan to have it pay for itself very soon with potential blown turbo's.

I would avoid doing any mechanical mods until you know what is going on with the turbo's

Otherwise nice car!!

Nice car! I love the white and black contrast.

If those are 19" wheels they are RS6 replica (reps) wheels. They are not OEM, and generally people buy them on eBay. I have the same 19" replica wheels on my A6.

I just checked and looks like someone just painted the tips and it's not the best job as it scratches off easily

So in my case that means I can't just put an X-pipe? Need to replace complete exhaust?

I have the list of options for the car but I don't see TD1, how can I check if it's flagged?
I most definitely get that warranty!

I'll check if the wheels have audi logos on the inside that would mean they are OEM.

Thank you all for replying!
If you can recommend me a warranty and controllable exhaust that would be great!
Also if you know a good shop that can do it here in Orange County / LA area.

I mean, there is definitely some failures with the turbos but I feel like people are making this out to be a WAY bigger issue than it really is from the small percentage on the forum posted.

At 50k miles, you are in the prime window for:
1) PCV valve failure
2)oil screen to the turbos causing turbo starvation and failure
3) Active motor mount failure
4) Coolant line gaskets to the turbos failing, causing a buildup of crud that can clog the turbo lines.

Recommend removing the turbo inlets and checking for any play in the turbo shafts. If there is, it would be grounds for getting them replaced under your current warranty.
If they are fine, recommend at least considering replacing your PCV valve, turbo inlet lines/gaskets, and turbo oil screen pre-emptively. This can all be done at once with essentially the same single labor charge.
After that, recommend using a high quality oil for an every 5k mile oil change.

.

You can still just swap in an X-pipe to see if it gives what you need, and it doesn't cost too much. I'm sure there's plenty of people here who can give you feedback on that or search the forum.

Hahaha! "Small" issue you say? Dealer cost to replace turbos is around $10k. That is nothing to scoff at.

OP you want to get the car scanned either by the dealer or buy the equipment and do it yourself. It is nice to have the scanner hardware yourself particularly if you plan on keeping the car for some time and like tinkering. There are some nice mods you can achieve with the pre-facelift models.

OlyS6 has pretty much covered the gamut of what goes wrong with the pre-face models other than the thermostat. When I purchased my 2013 S6 with 43k miles I thought it would happen to everyone else but me. Well, I have already replaced the PCV valve, one motor mount, PCV and thermostat all within a year's ownership. I am patiently waiting for the turbos to go then go Stage 3. My car is tuned but somehow I think my dealer turns a blind eye thus far. Whatever your strategy be prepared.

You keep saying "pre face" facelift cars have all these issues as well no?

You keep saying "pre face" facelift cars have all these issues as well no?Depending on what year you go with facelift models have the updated parts so aw less prone to failure. Or just don't have enough mileage.

So i should buy a 16+ S7 for $10,000 more?

If you want to know what wheels came with the car, or exhaust option, or anything else - just email audi customer experience center, and they will email you a reproduction of the original window sticker. I've done it twice, no charge, & they've answered me in 1 to 3 days. I think it's a cool thing to have if you buy a used Audi & there is not window sticker. You can get a (possibly confusing) list of options from different vin sites, but the actual window sticker is what I want.

Also, I have had a ‘13 S7 for about 6 months.
First thing I did was stage one. A different car completely. Absolute must.
Secondly, delete cats and second mufflers. Best sound $200 will get you.
Thirdly suspension / struts, handles amazing.

Have an awesome time OP!

I found a platinum bumper to bumper warranty for 5 years/100k miles for $4700. Inspection to apply for warranty is about $300. Warranty offered by Axiom. Do you know if that's a good deal?

If there is anyone reading this that has a X-pipe or custom exhaust and live in Orange county and would let me listen to theirs that would be cool!

What would you say are the best mods you can do if i would buy a VCDS scanner (or other scanner that works)?
Also what were the symptoms of a bad motor mount in your case?

I already went to audi myself and got a 6 page printout of all my 3-digit options and explanation but I'll ask for the windows sticker as well. Thanks!

I will do Stage 1 for sure but gotta make sure that warranty will cover my car in case the turbos go bad. Do you know if I can flash it back for free if I get Stage 1 ECU tune from APR?
Thanks for the input, why did you sell it after 6 months?

As for mods you can do with VCDS search for that thread. There are too many to list but for me lowering the car, turning off the side markers, turning on Video in Motion (you will see it listed as VIM) and turning off the seatbelt chime.

OK thanks a lot for the info. I'll look into that.
I noticed my brakes are squeaking when i press the brake pedal a bit. Which brake pads are you guys using?
