Before I get started on details, I have done a few searches and garnered enough information to formulate a plan, but I couldn't find any pictures so I'm hoping someone can help with that specifically.

Now, to business...

I have a CTS Turbo intake installed and back when I did that, I knew my intake noise and supercharger whine would become louder. At the time, that was what I wanted. Now though, it has become a little too much for me, especially since porting the s/c and installing the larger TB. I'd rather hear a little more exhaust and a little less s/c when I'm on the throttle. From what I've read, some members (@Loe comes to mind) have mentioned utilizing a upgraded filter and throttle body inlet tube coupled with the stock airbox, which is modified by having a hole added to the front. This is what I'm going to test out, but I'd love to see a picture of anyone who has this setup, especially the location and size of the hole you have added.

Appreciate any feedback as always.

It's a day of intake questions. Here is my setup. Ported airbox with the following AFE filter (https://amzn.to/2EJBWPH) with ECS CF intake tube/pipe. You can hear it, but it's not in your face like a open intake.

Also for a outside reference listed from around the 40 second mark. Keep in mind this is at full WOT with a xpipe modded stock exhaust (so not super loud).

As for where you put hole in the air box, I added holes to the front and the passenger front side. This way it should suck up less heat from the engine. As for size it's really up to you. Some people just cut up a 1 or 2 inch square and call it good.

this is what I have https://photos.app.goo.gl/iv3xU3nhhTsHpc5W9

I love it, it does exactly what it needs to do, low-key, and add's only a small amount of noise. I rarely hear it at wide-open, it's mostly just the exhaust banter with my x-pipe/h-pipe/test-pipe combination.
