So this weekend I finally put headlights into my car. It was a factory halogen car, and back in the summer I sold the headlights as I knew I would be installing Bi Xenons. Stupid me never looked into it, that I’d need to program the car to the Bi Xenons while the Halogens were plugged in.

Regardless, I plugged some halogen mk4 headlights in. And that seemed to kind of work, but the signals were the high beams, and were the same case when I was able to get into the 09 module with them installed and changed the coding for Xenon, that the high beam was signal on them too (Bi Xenon). But only the left side.

My question, is the mk4 headlights messing with the coding as I’m sure the pin locations are different and VCDS is catching that.

I have a bunch of airbag, brake pedal switch, abs, comfort control module codes.

When I unplug it all including the 2 pins in the ccm connector for the high beams everything goes back to normal. My horn works, my rear signals, dash lights, ect. All that was previously out with the adapter harness installed.

I’ve changed the values of the 4th digit from 1 through 4, with the same result.

Anyone able to help? Do I invest in another set of halogen to be 100% sure I can rule that out from my issue? I’ve narrowed all of my issues down to the headlights and the harness.

The cars sitting at my mechanics now, as it was supposed to be safetied tomorrow however it is apparent that is not gonna happen.

Any insight appreciated. Thanks.
