My gear shifter was acting up today for the very first time. I was having a little difficulty getting the lever back into 'P' after parking it before turning off the car. It seemed like something was lodged on the way inside the lever from R to P (Park), but somehow I got it in with some fidgeting. This went on for quite a few times as I was testing it out. Other than that the car drove fine and normal on all levels with no problems shifting from PRNDS and (+/-). Surprisingly though after a long drive it shifted back smoothly into 'Park' again with no problems as I got her back in the garage. What should I be looking for?

I've definitely lodged an aux cord in there once... jammed it when is was going into Park lol. Is that the feeling?

The could be some sort of debris in between the outer trim piece surrounding the shifter and the black rubber guard that follows the shifter when you move it. Take it out and have a look. :)

Is it difficult to remove? It doesn't look to be though but couldn't find any DIY.
