tpms has alerted three times. First two times 2 months apart. Third time one month. RR tire down to 28 lbs after being set at 33 lbs. I have been told the TPMS has gaskets that might cause slow leak.I have an appointment with dealer Saturday to check tire for leak. Anyone have experience with TPMS gaskets going bad? The TPMS does its job and does alert for low pressure. The third time it did not ID which tire was bad, the two previous times it did

If there's no nail or tire intrusion, could be a faulty valve stem?

I usually end up dunking my wheel in the pool to find a leak if I cannot see a nail. I have had TPMS leaking as well as bubbles coming from the bead on the rim. You can also spray a lot of soapy water on the valve stem. It should bubble if there is air leaking out.

Is the car lowered?
Mine went off several times too(TPMS) and it was because the inside side wall was basically shredded.
2 choices here
If nail or screw or some type of puncture slowly roll the car and take a look at the wheel.
If shredded side wall just turn the wheel all the way to the right and take a look on the inside.

With all the photos of rocker panel panels crushed by improper jacking,, It might pay to go to dealer I am too old to take wheel off and do not have proper jack & jack stands
spray a bunch of soapy water. I had same situation; slow leaking on one tire. Found out to be a bad valve stem. It's 3-4 bucks for a set from advance auto parts.
Take 30 minute of your day and remove the wheel, fully inspect all surfaces.

I had a tire that would leak turned out had tiny crack on inside of rim tire shop welded. Wasn’t too expensive

No TPMS sensors on the S4, so that won't be the cause of the leak.

My thoughts exactly. I had the same issue but with new wheels and tires where only one was leaking. They remounted the tire and issue was resolved.

I thought there were sensors in the wheels.? I will try new valve stem, but I am more inclined to think an object in the tire tread. At age 75 w/0 a floor jack and jack stands,I am not going to venture to remove wheel myself.

Please elaborate on that statement. I know TPMS some how uses ABS sensors

Please elaborate on that statement. I know TPMS some how uses ABS sensorsOur cars do not have sensors in the tires. It counts wheel rotations and compares it to the stored value. If the wheel spins faster than it expects, it determines that the tire is under inflated. Not as accurate, but eliminates the sensors than can go bad, or leak.

If you have done Different tread depth, like a new tire on one wheel, will it screw up the way the system works?

If you have done Different tread depth, like a new tire on one wheel, will it screw up the way the system works? It stores each tire independently. If you had one really worn tire, I suppose if you rotated your tires you could throw it off. I doubt that would be enough of a difference, though. Certainly not ideal for the AWD system, however.
