Hey guys,

Just installed my JHM Test pipes to get ready for Ultracharger. Check Engine light came on so I am unable to pass inspection. What is the number 1 o2 spacers you guys suggest for the b8.5 s4 for fitment and durability and or will the APR Test Pipe file be good enough to pass inspection?

Thanks
Mike

I used a 90 degree spacer, don't remember the brand - maybe SD?
Ultracharger has a test pipe option, so no CEL.
Not sure about emissions as we don't have testing here.

I used these, but the had to be installed with the downpipes/header off the car. I hear the Vibrant spacers can be added and removed without removing parts. The Vibrant spacers are getting good reviews on the B8.5 FB group.

Not really , you could installed afterwards from the top . It’s tight but possible .

Should of thought to add the spacers before I installed the test pipes.... so it is possible to install after the test pipes are already in?

Ps. I am located in NY curious if the APR test pipe file would be enough to pass inspection? Would readiness set?

Correct , it will always read “fail” . A regular non testpipe with spacers will give you readiness . .

I wasn’t aware apr had a test file either

Jeesh so the most cost effective way to pass is the spacers?

APR does in fact have a test pipe file.
I've been running it for awhile on UC 93 file, but I also added the 90 degree spacers as insurance.

I thought I was going crazy haha I knew that had one. What 90 degree ones do you use?

Not accurate. I just bought and tried to install Vibrant J spacers yesterday and its not even close to fitting. Unless youre referring to the straight Vibrants, or were willing to lower the trans, which I ordered and am installing soon. Maybe B8.5's are different? :shrugs:

If this question is for me, I used SPD 90 degree spacers bought off of ebay.
$25.37 for the pair

Its a different car and platform but the vibrant spacer with the middle insert worked flawless in my GTi for 35k miles until i sold it and flawless on my wife's S3. My wife's car only has about 15k with the DP but it has been installed for over 2 years and never a CEL.
