Just picked up the below. It’s from a B8.5 S4 and will be going on a B8 S4. Anyone have leads on an airbag? I believe I need a 8K dual stage.

Is there anything else I’ll need to make the transition? I’ve searched but couldn’t find much about S4 to S4.

Any help is appreciated.111112

Congrats on the purchase , sexy wheel . Yes you need a dual stage airbag and rewiring . I was kind of in the same shoes as you but backwards. I owe a B8.5 and Purchased a wheel with the wrong description on the sellers page . Long story short , Two different airbags after doing my research it was gonna be a more of a headache to do the wiring or actually find someone to do the wiring for me plus further research I found out their was a incident that someone had converted their stages and suffered an accident fortunately the driver was OK but his airbags did not deploy.
I end contacting the seller and 3 months later ( with my own core [emoji849] ) I got my wheel .

Congrats on the purchase , sexy wheel .

Agreed! The B8 steering wheel is one of my only gripes over B8.5 owners. Very, very nice. [up]

Sent from my iPhone using Audizine (http://r.tapatalk.com/byo?rid=87676)Guys the b8.5 circular airbag is a direct plug and play in a b8 older style. Both airbags are dual stage, the plus is a little bit different between the airbags but no rewiring is required for airbag. I did this to my b8. I recorded footage. Can make a YouTube vid. Super easy mod, no airbag light. You need the b8.5 S4 airbag, s line won't work because it's smaller. Make sure you get right part number, usually around $450 on eBay. If you wait to can find a good deal. I bought mine on eBay for $250 shipped.

I have a 2012 B8 S4. In research I found I just needed the correct airbag. I know the buttons are a little different on the B8.5. Is that why you would need to rewire? Do you happen to know the part number you purchased? If you have footage that would be super.

You need airbag 8r0880201q
I think this one on eBay should work. Confirm part number with seller. $300 is a good deal. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F23 3108736239

And you lose a botton on left, the rest works like a charm. Hasn't bothered me at all. And the rewire should only affect bottons, the airbag is completely not affected and would function correctly.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYou are showing pictures of a b8.5 S4 wheel and airbag and s line smaller airbag wheel I think. Neither of those is a b8 S4 wheel, not sure what you're trying to say.

Correct me if I’m wrong but as far as I know , 2012 and under didn’t come with round airbags ?
Long story short , not just cause the airbag is round means it will fit .
The guy that linked the eBay link , that’s the correct one for that wheel .

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYes. What I said or meant to say is a b8.5 s4 round airbag will plug right into a b8 S4 car wiring. There's no rewiring necessary. The b8 airbag connector plug accepts b8.5 round airbag.

I'll reach out to seller. From their image of what wheel it will and won't work on looks to be the right one.

Did you do the rewire? Do you have MT or DSG?

I can PM you my email or cell if you could send me your footage.

Thanks!

B8.5 S4 flat bottom steering wheel remade by TAW Chicago. Carbon top and bottom, alcantara sides, and extended carbon fiber paddles.

That steering wheel doesn’t look Audi OEM. I would look into potentially searching the brand of that wheel if you can find it. See their recommendations. There are forms for Audi OEM b8.5 —> b8 steering wheels. I would look at that first. Find the Airbag recommendations. It’s just sketchy to play around with the airbag wiring if needed. It can go off on you. Hope I said at least something helpful to you. This is just what I would do. And that wheel is sick. It looks super nice.

Is there a torque spec on the T55 center bolt? I'll use some thread lock but was curious about a torque spec.
