Engine light went away with flash

My engine light came on this weekend. Flashed the car back to stock from stg 1 EPL and now the engine light is gone. This ever happen to anyone? It wasn’t a flashing engine light with limp mode, just came on but car was running fine.

When you flash software it erases the codes usually.

I would've scanned the code before flashing. Maybe see if you get lucky and an old fault is stored. I doubt it but worth a try.

Don’t have a scanner otherwise I would’ve. Guess if it’s a persistent error it will appear again?

Same thing happened to me. Had a Engine light come on and when I flashed it back to stock it was gone. Didn't think it would go away so I never scanned for the code. Going to flash back to EPL Stage 1 later today.

I had my CEL come on when I had the car flashed with EPL stage 1 a couple of years ago. It would come and go, though the codes where never anything of significance.
When I flashed the car back to stock the light never came on again, and that was for about a year. I've now flashed the car again, running EPL stage 2 since December, and the light has now started to come on and then go off again. EPL will tell you it has nothing to do with the software, however, my experience seem to demonstrate otherwise.
