Hey guys - I thought there was some sort of thread about this on here, but can't find it for the life of me. If you can point it out or if you know the answer, I'd appreciate some insight.

I currently have the lame analog rear climate controls and would like the digital. Is it plug & play (+ coding) or is there some additional module that's needed?

I want to go from this:

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm almost certain you have to change the front unit also, as well as the CCM and some other bits, you are going from 3 zone to 4 zone. I too thought about this mod years ago, and gave up. No one could give a definitive answer. Reach out to Morski in the UK. He is extremely knowledgeable and may be able to shed some light.

Thanks;
I have done this retrofit and its not a simple plug n play one. You basically need to change the heater fan box behind the dash so thats a dash out job. Add new ducts under the carpet for the side vents. Replace main climate control panel. Add new temp sensors to front and rear. Rewire front air vents. Replace front air vents. Add new wiring from front climate control panel to the new rear one. Plus coding and CP removal. Should be done by done by lunch time :-)

Probably easier to go find a car with Prestige trim and sell your old car

Morski what about those of us who can live without the extra zone but want replace the front panel for one we can actually sync etc? Do you have any advice on how to make that function a lot of threads I’ve read users haven’t been able make it work. But since you’ve done it maybe some more info we are missing?

You can fit the 4 zone panel and once CP is removed it will work to a certain extent. You can not fully control the output of the fan to the different zones. Ie if you want full power to the screen if its misted then you wont get it. The 4 zone uses a blower box with 17 stepper motors whereas the standard 2 zone is only 7 motors.
You can sync the 2 zone panel by holding down the drivers side button.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a (easy) way to replace the blower? Or is that a dash out scenario?

As for syncing the 2 zone it’s not possible. The dials are manual rotary dials. No button functionality. Very disappointed my old B6 had 2 zone that was able to sync.
