I have owned the S7 for about 2 weeks and I seem to have a problem with my phone losing connectivity with the car while I am on a call. The phone pairs up quickly with the car, but it will lose my ability to talk to the other person. I can hear them great, but they can't hear me at all. Signal strength of the cellular is good to great. Do you think it is an issue with the cars Bluetooth or is it something with my iPhone XS Max?

Likely a phone software related issue. Is there an update available to the iOS on your XS Max?

No, it says software is up to date.

I talked with the dealer on this and they have never heard of a car "dropping the mic" like mine is doing. I rebooted my phone and it helped for that day, but now its back to the other people not being able to hear me.
Any thoughts?

Try using a different phone for a day or two to verify if it's the phone or if it's the car, then you can determine the best course of action...

I will give this a try with the wife's phone, thanks for the idea.

If this is a new phone that this problem started with, it may be similar to an issue my wife had. After pairing a new iphone, the car had a lot of issues with calls. I found that both new and old phones had the same bluetooth ID, and both phones were paired to the car which I think was confusing it. So I deleted all the phones out of it and re-paired the new one, had no problems after that.

I will also give this a try, but I thought the dealer cleared all of those out. But it is worth a try!

My wife had this same issue with her iPhone XS Max. Delete the phone from the car's bluetooth settings and delete all existing bluetooth connections from your phone. Then reconnect to the car, fixed her problem.

Did this yesterday and it dropped my voice out of the call on the first try! I can still hear them, they just can't hear me!

Completely unpaired my phone and paired my wives phone, same problem on first call. This is very frustrating, not sure what the fix could be.

Seems that there might be a bug with the new iPhones in regards to car connectivity and quite possibly other phone platforms. This article makes it seem like a total fix has not been found yet. They suggest making sure you have the latest updates in the car.

Interesting article, thanks for sharing. I guess I will have to wait until Apple comes up with something. I just purchased the car and the dealer assured me that they updated to the newest software for the MMI. But I may have it checked again to make sure.
Somewhat known problem. I have the problem with my iPhone XS Max and ‘16 RS7. I talked to Audi MMI support, Apple support both for hours and hours tried everything. Eventually Apple even replaced the phone. It’s a little better but same problems.
Very embarrassing when try to take calls and people can’t hear me.

I agree! Seems like a software issue that could be taken care of with a Bluetooth software update on Apples side.

Alright, this is getting ridiculous! Who do I need to complain to, Audi or Apple? To me this is a very stupid problem to have, it keeps dropping the mic portion of the call. With the technology they have this should be an easy fix.
Audi or Apple?
TIA.
Same issue on my XS Max and A6. I found that if I leave the call running and switch off hands free from the steering wheel controls then redo it it works fine. I have no time or patience to have my phone replaced in the Apple store. Most likely a iOS bug. Are you guys using FT audio call or cellular call?

Mine is cellular calls. Glad to know I am not the only one having this problem.

With those having the problem is there any commonality on service provider?
We have Iphone 6 with ATT/Verizon and no issues in our A7. My work baby monitor is a Samsung Galaxy S7 or Verizon with no issues as well.

Does the latest iOS update, 12.1.3 fix your problem? Under their release notes, it list this issue resolution: "Resolves an issue that could cause certain CarPlay systems to disconnect from iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max".
However, it does not go into any detail if this is a Bluetooth resolution.

So far, the new software seems to have fixed the issue. I have only made 2 calls in the car, but it did not drop the mic portion in either one.

I am having all the same issues on my 2016 s6 running phone driver 14.41.1. I just got Apple to replace the phone and 2nd call in the same issue.
What is the latest driver?
