Yeah MAN! You should document it all and post here!

I wish Audi made a cheap TT motor back then.....[confused]

With enough time and money, anything is possible. But is it worth it? Not really. The 2.8 isn't designed to be boosted. They make a supercharger for it but that's only good up to 9 or 10 psi max. The 2.8 and 2.7 compression ratio is different to hold the boost. In order to build it to hold the boost of twin turbos you would have to build the motor. Change the pistons, change the rods to stronger ones, have to build a set of heads with 2.7 exhaust valves, would need a 2.7 intake for it, 2.7 exhaust manifolds or headers, a transmission that would hold the power along with rear dif... ect ect.... that as just the obvious stuff, there is a lot of minor things that would have to be changed like the upper oil pan to relocate the dipstick, the fan pulley assembly is slightly different than the 2.8, the coolant tubes have additional ports to accommodate the cooling of the turbos and so on...

Essentially you would have to strip the engine down and build it with the right parts. At that point, the only thing that is "2.8" is the block itself. At that point you might as well just buy a 2.7 motor from the beginning. It will be a lot cheaper that way. Not to mention you would have to change or modify the wiring harness and an ECU to run everything.

Also with the car being a 96, it's a drive by cable throttle system, I believe, and the 2.7 is a drive by wire so that means you have to swap out the gas pedal assembly and wiring harness. And that dash harness is not an easy undertaking.

So to just reiterate, yes you could but you would be a lot more into it then to just buy an s4 or an actual 2.7 and swap it.

Twin charging the 2.8 would be unique. You are free to do whatever floats your boat ultimately. If you just like the challenge, why the heck not! You might blow stuff up in the process however.

just get a 2.7T it will take less money and make lot"s power all day long you can put on 2.8 heads if you really want.

No , but if you are really set on it do it obviously, with time and money everything can be done ( almost). Question is it worth it for the end result ?

Meh, why make it simple?

For he money it would cost to do the conversion, you could probably start with an s4 for cheaper.

Thanks for all the comments! If I do pick this up I could ditch the 2.8 and swap in an Inline 5 2.5 L which is my dream build. Which even then would take a long time because time and money are scarce (that college student life).

2.5L from TTrs ? Oh boi. It would be easier to swap a VR6 or a 2.2L AAN if you want 5 cyl.

Nah bro, should be easy. I'sure that motor will be cheap and drop right in! you should put a 2.5 at each axle so you have 2x the powah!

I'd personally do it if I had a manual 2.8. For fun not power. If you want power definitely look elsewhere.. And a 2.7t isn't what I would suggest. I'd say a 1.8t over that. I'd do it with stock internals and accept you aren't going to make 400whp. It's gonna be expensive and you're going to need to know how to weld either mig with gas or tig. I don't think any amount of voltage with Flux core would cut it for making manifolds. Two k03's..? It would cost thousands and then some more thousands..

I think everyone was under the impression you were willing to throw tons of money at a ridiculous project [emoji52]

If moneys a concern, 2.7tt A6ís are a dime a dozen at every junk yard in the country, and thatíll get you off to a much better start for only a couple hundred.

Or just buy a used S4. You like i5ís? Grab a c4

All of these options are vastly cheaper, less time consuming, and will give you a lot more time to focus on school(;
