So Iím back again looking to buy another car, one that I actually have some history on, I found a 1.8T 01 B5 for 1500$, needs cv axles and water pump and timing chain since it just passed 100k miles or a 04 golf GTI with 124k miles on it for 4K, both cars are at a dealership but the Volkswagen doesnít need anything.

b5.. waterpump 30 bucks, TB kit 150 bucks, cv axels depends , if only outer joints 50~ bucks, if replacement aftermarket 100 bucks each, 50 bucks if junkyard. Way less than 4k.

then you can wire me the 2k $ leftover for helping you :P

So in your opinion should I go b5 itís 300$ for the cv axles, timing belt kit and water pump here at my local parts store so in total itís 1800$

Thanks, I just spit coffee all over my keyboard. Hilarious! Just wait 5 minutes. It will need something.

But seriously, do you like wheel spin? Torque steer? Difficult rear seat access? Go with the Golf.

Do you like winter traction domination? AWD power slides? Generally winning and being awesome? Get the B5.

Id be worried about fixing all the things that are wrong with the car before sinking money into a tune.

I think that wins my vote for a new b5 bumper sticker!!

The B5 is the way to go. Id say give it a little while and look around until you find something you donít have to dump 1500 into to get it road worthy (unless thatís no problem for you).

Since itís a 2001, a custom Motoza tune. Upgradeable and itís less expensive initially than an off the shelf tune. Been there, done that.
