New member here! So, I just bought a 2018 A6 with the 2 liter and this ZF transmission that it seems every car is using.
1. Any common issues with these?
2. How do these do after 100k miles?
I'd really like to pay this off and keep the car. I just came from a BMW N20 motor having issues, and I'm hoping this Audi is better engineered.
Thank you!

I haven’t seen too many issues with that model reported here. But like any car, take care of it and it will take care of you.
I would just judiciously follow recommended break-in procedures, maintenance guidelines (above and beyond even) and other recommended manufacturer requirements and I’m sure you’ll be good to go for many miles. Repairs—if things do break—can be expensive, so it might be worthwhile to buy extended warranty (and you must do it before the manufacturer’s warranty expires), but that’s entirely up to you and you have plenty of time to decide.
Good luck.

Compared to some of the previous ZF transmissions (6hp occasionally but more often the 5hp models), the 8hp models seem nearly bulletproof and are capable of handling a lot more power than the earlier models. They also shift significantly faster using the paddles (still no DSG). I'd still change the fluid between 60-100k but you will be fine.
For reference, I had a B7 A4 with a 6hp19, and changed the fluid at 100k and 145k. Each time the shifting got crisper and more precise. I plan on doing the same with mine when I get there.
