The car misfire in cold start and shows epc light. Rough idles in cold start with fluctuation in rpm even without applying gas.
Replaced spark plugs, Ignition coils, and pcv so far. Still the same check engine light and misfire in cylinder 2,3 and 4.
The garage here suspects its the fuel injector causing this issue and wants to replace whole injectors. Is there any way to confirm if the fuel injectors are faulty?
In order to change the fuel injectors is it necessary to drop the engine?

98210They can try to disable those injectors one at a time to see if there is a change in misfire counter

I literally justed picked up my car from having my fuel injectors replaced. A few thoughts:
Audi has a tsb about intermittent cold start issues and it is software update. At least worth looking into and having the dealership flash it?
Also if you haven’t maybe run a can of bk44 through it for clogged injectors.
Typically leaky fuel injectors will cause warm start issues but cold start problems can occur. Mine was hard to start about 30min to an hour after driving the car. It would sometimes have problems the next morning. Unfortunately mine never threw misfire codes although I suspected cyl 5 and 8 were to blame because their misfire count was much more than the others. Also Pull off engine oil cap and see if you smell gas and that can also point you to leaking injectors. In the end my mechanic logged the rail pressure when the car was turned off after driving. He found that after about 20min it would drop below spec, which of course meant that one of the injectors had to be leaking.
It is engine out, however there may be enough room on bank 1 not to have to do it.
Keep in mind the more common turbo failures on these cars causes rpm issues, idle issues and low power. Might need to check them for shaft play
