Coming from an zf 6 speed to 7 speed s tronic, there is some thing great and some thing I don't like.
Pro
1 gear shifting responses very good, happens instantly no delay. I drive my car manual 99 percent of the time, shifting speed very good
2 the downshift blip sounds is very nice, the engine brake
3 the launch control, which shift very hard, and really push the car to the limit.
What I don't like is
1 day to day driving, I mean not track all out driving, it actually get off the line slower than traditional auto, specially the 1st to 2nd, reverse to drive also slower.
2 the initial take off feel lack off torque, specifically the 0 to 500 rpm. It just doesn't have that instant torque traditional torque converter give you.
3 the launch control, it's a pro also a con, to launch the s tronic, need to push a few buttons get the settings right, the floor it, quit a few step especially if u just want a fast take off from the light. With traditional auto, I can just simply left foot brake gets the Rev up and go, dual clutch not allowed me to do that.
My thoughts is day to day driving even some spiritual driving, I don't see that much advantage dual cluch over the traditional auto, you can only feel the big difference on the track driving all out. To me I rather have a traditional auto on my next car
