The integrated engineering intake manifold has a 65mm opening. The Porsche throttle body is 75, and the adapter plate takes it down to 70. There is a 5mm lip on the inside due to the IE manifold having a smaller opening at the throttle body. (odd) To remedy this I am taking the manifold and adapter plate to the machine shop and boring the entire assembly out to 75mm.

12/13/18
Received both swainteched mani and iABED throttle kit, slapped some VHT flat black on the mani, baked, and installed it.

12/11/18
Added some photos of how I re-rerouted my harness from the ECU
ABS relocation &
Powdercoated coolant lines/fuel rail / catch can input plumbing

More pictures and updates to come.

Started off by rebuilding all the suspension and rebuilding the head, and has turned into this a year later lol.

How bad do those engines vibrate without the counter balance shaft? A friend did that to his Speed 3 and it gave me a headache when I road in it.

I did it in a 1.8t and it wasn't even noticeable. I've heard similar about the 2.0t. I had the whole rotating assembly balanced. I'll see for myself shortly

Ive been into the Audi scene for a while and 550 out of a 2.0 liter even ported with all the fixens is a huge ask. Do you have the flow map for your turbo?

Not that difficult when you dump thousands into your car and know the right people lol.

I could have two built mustangs that were twice as fast by now... too bad i hate mustangs.

Different injector needed for intake. Machining will be required. I’ve been dabbling with ordering some big old injectors from across the pond but other things are in the works.

I don’t see 550 as an option with only 4 S3 injectors. Regardless of PRV and likely running 2 would help but they just likely won’t flow enough up top where we would see the 550Hp marker in RPM. I think it’s possible but there’s likely a few more items required like 2ndary ECU to control 4 more injectors and 4 more likely very pricey injectors. my modified lines under the hood could likely feed more injectors with more modifications.

All looks like options here!!!

Yeah guys I am working on a custom setup -- it wont be included in my first start up because I want to get the motor broke in and running first. I have made so many changes between relocations and engine mods, there is bound to be some troubleshooting. Weather it is a leak or tuning related, I'd like to be sure it is a strong running motor I am working with. And I also don't want to speak too highly/confidently about it because it certainly is an experiment, but one that I feel really good about.

To add to that, I will be using S3s at the chamber for both setups but never at the ports

Great thread.

Glad to see someone else using the skoda 1.8t oil filter housing as well.

Did you abandon the housing or tabling it for now. You have no less encountered the problem with the hard coolant line and the oil return fitting. Issam supplied me with a custom banjo to clear but still working out the details, on solution brings another problem for me.

I can follow with my pictures, can you show some of your relocation pics?

Also, more info on your driver side bay shave and relocations

Thanks,

I used a 10 AN swivel 90 adapter coming off the housing to dodge the coolant hardline, then attach to that with a 10 an 90 swivel hose end.

I sold the plastic housing, it was fairly new.

ABS is in raintray, I used a mk3 vw coolant bottle and put that in the raintray as well. Powersteering res is up kind of inside the driverside fender.

OP thread #27 pic #2 where is your an line from VC going? I’ve had a bad experience with this and yours looks like mine used to which wasn’t correct, so before you experience the crazy shit I did hopefully you’ve got yours routed correctly.

Rongeur that 1.8 housing looks different then mine. The AN lines look great though. As for your coolant line that goes to turbo I think I changed the feed to the line on the lower coolant pipe and used 1 continuous coolant line across front of motor to the engine side of turbo, then return from turbo on a banjo with an line dropping below turbo back to block. I’m sure this is how everyone’s doing it these days.

You have this also connected to the crankcase? If not you’ll want to make sure you do, should be a fitting off the oil filter housing to connect with. As well this requires an over pressure valve for added safety. This should be about 8” or so from the crank case line.

Yes, I have a 10 AN Y connector bringing the two together, and from there to the intake. No over pressure valve though. What do you recommend as far as products for a 10 AN over pressure valve?

Thank you

034 Motorsports has a billet check/pressure valve for this. It’s from the 1.8T motor. If your using the 1.8T oil filter housing it’s really easy install and there’s a “kit” available. Trust me with all your work please put in the valve. I saved mine before shit got really really bad but I did have to re seal the head as it pushed some oil through some places it shouldn’t have been pushed out.

I used this

This is the billet valve
https://store.034motorsport.com/check-valve-1-8t-2-7t-aan-pcv-billet.html

You likely have alternate options based on the needs to hide things

This might be better to go between your 2 lines
https://store.034motorsport.com/breather-hose-aan-urs4-s6-throttle-body-to-check-valve-silicone.html
This might be cheaper and provide a bit more hose options includes the valve
https://store.034motorsport.com/breather-hose-kit-aug-awm-amb-b5-b6-audi-a4-volkswagen-passat-1-8t-reinforced-silicone.html
This is a T might be another easy option

I have run a direct line (valve cover teed to the crankcase vent) to a catch can that vent back to the intake (post filter, pre turbo) without issue. The faster the air is brought in the more the crankcase is ventilated.

In what scenario did you find crankcase gasses outpacing your intake? Your blow by gasses and pressure would have to be ridiculous to blow a head gasket.

Im curious about this as well, my setup is the same as yours.

Pressure pushed through the sealant on cam cradle NOT head gasket. This was attempted VTA not a properly vacuumed through the intake. I thought using the pressure valve was able to open and VTA which was wrong it’s only there to relieve if pressure in the system gets a blockage (frozen catch can) or peculiar overpressure so you don’t blow the rear main seal. Luckily the valve was open venting all crank pressure but the head pressure was more then the sealant could hold and not all being released through the valve.

Your more then welcome to run what you like but the 1.8T system is different then the 2.0T. For proper function the system and to avoid possible future issues I’d strongly suggest adapting the valve in.

Mines the same as both of both of yours by looks, and I fucked it up nicely. I’d strongly suggest you avoid being me.... at all costs no matter what you do, don’t be me!

Ill probably splice into the braided line after my Y, use an AN barb adapter fitting to the silicone T you linked, and put the valve in there.

Thanks for the links & advice buddy

I am not doubting your experience, just seems there is more at play than simple crankcase and valves venting.

Oil vapors and gasses will build up by sheer nature of escape past the piston rings, especially in a high forced induction application, regardless of 1.8t or 2.0t.

The 1.8t conversion is strictly the liquid oil pump and filter system. The 2.0 block and 1.8 block are similar, but the oil (fluid) pressure relief valve is located in different spots. The 2.0t oil pump / balance shaft assembly contains the pressure relief valve to bleed off excessive start up and cold engine pressures. The 1.8t se pump has a PRV but is only cracked at very very high pressures and not meant to be the upper pressure regulator. The 1.8t oil housing is what contains the relief valve and bypass to avoid high pressures.

Converting to 1.8t pump and using the 2.0t plastic oil filter housing gave me very high starting pressures and low idle pressures when warm. I also found one of my main bearings was failing from the start which may explain the lower pressures over time.

The Skoda housing is designed for the 2.0t block to work with the 1.8t pump. It was designed by a VW race division for rally racing where they needed to get rid of the plastic housing and balance shafts. There is a billet version as well. Mine and the OP is the cast version. The billet version has a horizontal mount for the filter which requires all the hard coolant lines to be relocated.

I don’t have a link, part was sourced through Issam of IABed parts. He is a great resource for 1.8t conversion and parts not found elsewhere.

But I did cut out the balance shafts

Hi Everyone,
Rule of thumb for 06F Oil Pump solutions & Oil Filter housing

GOOD:

06F Oil Pump (if its good , leave it) + 06F Plastic Oil filter housing
06F Oil Pump (if its good , leave it) + 1.8T Oil filter housing
06F Oil Pump (if its good , leave it) + Skoda S2000 Oil filter housing
06F Oil Pump w/ balance shafts removed and channels plugged + 06F Plastic Oil filter housing
06F Oil Pump w/ balance shafts removed and channels plugged + 1.8T Oil filter housing
06F Oil Pump w/ balance shafts removed and channels plugged + Skoda S2000 Oil filter housing
1.8T Oil Pump conversion (requires drilling and tapping the block in 2 locations) + 1.8T Oil filter housing

BAD :

1.8T Oil Pump conversion (requires drilling and tapping the block in 2 locations) + 06F Plastic Oil filter housing

Basically any conversion that blocks off the oil return channel in the 06F block (where the 3rd 1.8T oil pump bolt goes) and does not regulate oil pressure then you will have issues.

I’d strongly suggest adapting the valve in.
What you are referring to is a 1-way valve for crankcase pressure which is standard if you are venting back into your system USING OE PARTS. Most catch cans act as this as there is nowhere for the fums to go once the hit the can.
As for your issues , I would wager they are completely unrelated to either oil pressure or crankcase pressure.

No mention of dry dump systems? Pretty sure that’s the next adventure for some of us.

So maybe my build is a unicorn but I have done away with the balance shafts oil pump and went with the 1.8t oil pump AND the stock oil filter housing and at warm idle my oil pressure is at 22 psi and while at cruising speed of 2.5 to 3k rpm my oil pressure is at 60 to 75 psi if memory serves me correctly as I have not driven the car in some time as I have been doing a bunch of maint work.

Ok so my job has relocated me to Jersey for the time being. I have a shop in tampa doing the maestro tune, finished up the downpipe/screamer pipe, and install gauges.

Run into a few hiccups upon trying to start up, but now she runs. Car literally throws low oil pressure upon start up. Car never had oil pressure issue prior to rebuild.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/11kQwYPbKtJLF1isfWfi6KBFhEhX0jMfo/view?usp=drivesdk

You can hear the three beeps as soon as the car recieves crank signal.

Tried a new switch, pcv is going to atmosphere (for time being) and car is reading 59 psi on cold start which has been compared to another 2.0 fsi and appears to be good reading but the reference vehicle obviously isnt throwing a low pressure light.

Engine sounds great, no tick or knock, but it has only run about 30 seconds total without going over 2.5k.rpm.

The electric gauge in video is about 8 psi off from a snap on mech gauge that was hooked up. Still have to ohm out the Hella oil switch to ensure its functioning properly and also there is an oil leak the size of a 12" pizza from only 30 seconds of run time on the turbo side.

Plan is to fix the oil leak, ohm out the switch, and see what's up. I cant help but think it is electrical related due to the fact that it has pressure (59 psi) cold start at idle and rises to 64psi at 2k rpm.

This car has the skoda 1.8t oil filter housing, balance shaft gear delete (machine shop swears pump was fine and I saw it myself and didnt see any issues) 42dd sensor relocation kit. Any leads or thoughts would be appreciated.

Do it yourself. Not hard except for removing the headliner through the trunk. I did mine in a suede. Get quality spray glue and threw genuine suede stuff or whatever material you choose for best results.

Thanks man! I had a vendor I work closely with do the upholstery. I just uninstalled/installed it. Needed it to be flawless and didn't trust myself. Did it for a fair price and came out as flawless as I had imagined. Definitely worth it. Currently wrapping up the sunroof panel trim in an rs4 carbon weave to finish off the headliner.

No way! Definitely remove it through the trunk opening! Obviously, make sure seats are folded down completely and your trunk is completely empty. It will not leave any crease marks. I left the seats up until I was ready to remove the liner through the trunk, they served as good support until the liner harness was fully disconnected and all the securing hardware was removed.

I found sending it through the trunk opening easy. Also I had a thin layer of foam added and stripped all of the original material.

176802tie down looks awesome, love to see it mounted.

OP i went thru the trunk as well to pull the headliner out. Its flexible and your rewrapping it so as long as you dont tear, your can work it out of the car.
