I just picked up some HRE FF04 in 20x9.5 for my S6 and am trying to decide on new tire size.
I knew I wanted wider tires then stock and I hate stretch. But on the other hand I don’t like the look of bulging tires. So I have decided on 285/30R20 based on the size spec. I like that it is very close to the same overall diameter as stock.
My question is there anyone running this combo of tire and wheel size? How does the sidewall look in relation to the rim? Can you post some pictures of your combo?
Thanks.

The 21x9.5's on my RS6 with 285/30ZR21's look good.

But, won't you get rubbing on the S6?

I would think that 285/30/20 mat be a bit bulgy on 9.5 wheels. I’m running those on 20x10 wheels with a ET of 40, and have a small amount of rim protection. I’d consider going with 275/30/20. You can see pics of my setup on the other similar thread from today.

I run 285/30-21 on a 9.5" Need the sidewall here, historic roads around Seattle can suck. Have curbed and or bent 2x sets of HRE Monoblocks on 6 sized tires which is limited.

I am jealous of your car! Absolutely amazing car. I can make them fit with a little work. I can adjust the suspension and camber to squeeze them in. That’s what I did on my S4. 96039

I saw your post and it’s what got me thinking about 285’s. I had 275/30R19 on my S4 and had very little protection for the rim. I was hoping to go up a size without it looking like it was eating the tire! Lol. Thanks

That looks perfect!! I could use a little more protection as well. Thanks for sharing.
285/30/20 will fit just fine in a 9.5" rim, it will just look meaty.

Thanks. Your S4 looks amazing too. Can't wait to see the results of what you do with your S6.
