Not entirely sure. A PM to OverboostPSI or Protocold should get you the information you're looking for if you need to upgrade, etc.

W12's and S8's have the LED DRL...What type of information do you want to know?

I am just thinkint that if 5 LEDs can replace a 35w bulb..
are they only used for DRLs?
like.. does the W12 A8 uses the LED when you flash the "high beam"..
I have bi-xenons on my bimmer, but the car uses the DRLs to flash.
I am thinking of an alternative to change the halogen yellow-ish look..
and the white looking halogens ain't cutting that.. cus at low volts, it would still be yellow, nor do i like that blue yolk look.
thanks for the pic!!

Hey bro, you're really gettin a hang on the forum I see. From what I know, I'm sure you can run a set of LED on your ride, but if you just do a direct swap, I'm sure you'll get a 'bulb-out' warning. The only thing is to use a LE (load equalizer). Search for SteveMondragon in the B7 forum, I think he's got a set running.

They are used for the DRL's and city lights at a reduced output (high beam and flash function are both with the xenon unit). The LED units on the A8 models are built in with the headlamp assembly which would require finding two used units or buying two brand new ones ($1500 - $2200 depending on discount) and hacking them apart. Not worth it IMO.

haha.. bro, i'm here to learn!.
the BMW forums are being attacked by the noobs of the noobs....
I wouldn't run direct swap LED bulbs to replace my DRLs.. LEDs only emit light to a single direction, this would make the reflective housing usless, thus, from a distance, you would only see a single dot for the DRLs.(might be exactly what ppl are looking for, but..not in my case) the A8's solution is to spread the LEDs apart (with specific reflective housing design?) and I believe it is a much better approach.
yes, i have seen "LED-bulbs" that offers multi-direction emitting, meaning that they have LEDs facing more than one direction.. but.. i still have the "High Beam" issue to worry about...
I'm here to see what Audi offers and that BMW doesn't.. more interesting this way.. [up]
@ AtlasD3Miami
thanks,
I think i'll pass that idea to use the A8 headlights.... haha.. screw DRLs.. going to cancel it and get the Angel Eyes instead....
So, Audi uses the Xenons to flash?...
so it is a misconception that Xenon bulbs can not be flashed, .. i've heard it is more of the ballast which could be fried when flashing. and flashing can only cause damage when the ballast is not warmed up; (you see the Xenon change colours during warm up)
can someone confirm this?..

Well, in terms of the flashing issue. I believe the 'flash' is coming from the same 'low beam', but it's just about the cut-off point. In another word, they just tilt the bulb so it hits the upper part of the lens... Someone correct me if I'm wrong.....
