From looking online, it seems dealers are charging anywhere from $200 - $400 for an oil change on an RS5. I would just invest in a vacuum pump, since all the oil is extracted from the top of our cars now and the filter is accessible from under the hood

My Dealer was 260 in Seattle, which is not a cheap place overall , 500 seems excessive

That's pretty steep. I pay around $300 for an oil change here in the SF Bay Area, whether I do it at my indy or the dealer. They both properly drain the oil, though. Sucking it out from the top is the lazy way and leaves sludge behind.

That is definitely excessive. I paid the dealer $130 for an oil change on my car. I do them myself now so I can choose my oil.

I install a 2" rubber plug at completion. It is easier and does a good job draining all from the bottom.[emoji16]

Yeah, I ended up doing the same as I had constant creaking issues from the belly pan, because it wasn't properly reinstalled. My indy bolted it on properly with fresh hardware and drilled a hole, so it doesn't have to be removed anymore for an oil change.

Paid $193.10 at dealer - $100 for parts and $90 for labor - $500 is absurd

Thatís what I pay for the small service from Audi but that includes air filters too. Do you have the bill with a breakdown of parts?

Ouch! That's a lot. Audi R8 doesn't cost that much, and that thing has 5 drain plugs.

Sheesh, I was expecting that to be in Canuck bucks and even then that's a pretty big rip.

Mine was 50 but I supplied oil and filter. The oil and filter alone cost around 100-125.

I'd head back to the dealer and take it up with the GM then call Audi and report them. That's exorbitant. Maybe contact the BBB too and file a complaint. Did they not quote you a price prior to the service. What Audi dealer? I'll be happy to call them up and tell them they're twats.

Jeez, this is a 15 minute job and costs about 100 bucks for oil and filter, I just do it my self itís so easy, no way would I let the dealer touch my car for an oil change. I extract the oil out the top, donít even get my hands dirty. Cabin filter at same time adds another 5 minutes, also easy. As for sludge I change oil/filter every 5000, no sludge, dirt is in the oil.

Anything over $150 for a car with the 4.2L V8 is absurd for an oil change.

Sent from my SM-N950U using TapatalkFind a good independent performance shop in your area that works on Audi and high end cars. They'll likely use better oil and charge much less
