View Full Version : Detail on the used rs7 or the dealership
So I had a young lady run through a red light and totaled my s7. Considering this particular rs7 and wanted to know if the previous owner was on the site and would have any detail on this car and or this dealership. Any help would be appreciated.

It's a high-end car lot for sure. I'm from the area and have seen only the nicest of nice of cars in the lot. As for the service....its a dealership....And I'd have to assume that the previous owner who dropped over 80-90K on a car took care of it during it short time with the owner and only 23k miles on it wasn't a daily and probably taking up room in their 4-5 car garage. Since you're in the market for a used 75k car, you know where I'm coming from. Hope the owner is on the site and comes forward to tell its story.
found out that the previous owner had straight piped the vehicle and it is throwing a cel, this coming from the dealership. I asked that they put it on the computer and send me the printout.

Seems like a great deal... assuming not TD1 for the straight pipe or other hidden issues are a result of the pipe.

I was eying this car during my search, it's spec'd well but Red is not for everyone. Dealership has come down 10k since it was initially listed. If it has CEL that makes sense for it to not have sold by now beyond the body color. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-Audi-RS-7-Westmont-d2230_L7505?sourceContext=shareLink_true_0#listing =215098036

sounds like a catalyst deficiency code. If that's all, use it as a negotiating chip and install a o2 sensor spacer when you get the car.
found out it had a tune and running e85, I won't touch it.

To my knowledge, there is no e85 tune for these cars.
It's totally safe to run a mix of a couple gallons of e85 and topped off with premium gas.
i have seen other people running e85 with the apr tune, they said the cel light comes off when they put e85 in the tank. Too many variables.

Hahahah! That's the dealership I purchased my S6 from! Generally good guys.
I am pretty excited as I have put a down payment on this beauty. Based upon final inspection and vagcom, back in the RS world. https://www.audizine.com/gallery/data/500/RS73.jpg

e85 mixed with gas = higher octane fuel, so maybe it's currently running on a 100 octane file and the dealer doesn't know it. APR doesn't have a full e85 tune for the RS7.

but it is... you can increase fuel octane with a few gallons of ethanol. I know many who do it. It's recommended over using an octane booster.

aka you don't know and you have no answer...
... if you have a better explanation for why e85 solves a CEL on a tune from a company that doesn't make an e85 tune.. I'd love to hear it if you can act like an adult and be constructive. Don't assume that I'm saying this is the same as 100 octane fuel, but simply a way to boost octane for people who don't have high octane fuel readily available. Out here in CA, we use e85 to boost 91 octane to 93 octane and then run 93 octane tunes. Tuners like EPL and APR recommend this over octane booster.
Do your research before spouting off like you're the king of all things.
