No, you need an FTDI chipped cable at minimum.

If you bought the dongle online, the listing should mention if it has the chip. NefMoto reccomends using FTDI FT232R Chipped cables

Best thing to do is open up the cable, only 4 screws are holding it on, and post pics or find out the chip on it, thats the surest way of finding out.

Look for the writing on the chip all the bigger ones, i dont know which one is it exactly cant really see from this angle.

EDIT: From looking from a computer and flipping the picture it looks like it has a FTDI chip, now find out the model number exactly and you can find out what you can do with it over at NefMoto :)

That's perfect for NefMoto justs make sure you download the KKL drivers from NefMoto

I only see support for ME7 so I don't think so, at least not without huge risk with no support

It definitly works for me7, but if you go over to nefmoto, you can see loads of people doing stuff with me3 and etc.

I understand I was /I am in your shoes , dont worry, make sure you do your search very carefully and read a lot of stuff. Best thing probably is to get a replacement ECU , incase stuff goes bad, when you attempt anything.
