What's everyone's thoughts on puddle lights:

I kind of like it, but not sure if they are tacky or not. I know a lot of the newer Audi / BMW / etc. brands are coming out with similar puddle lights standard.

I liked mine in my last a4 and plan on doing all 4 on my current a4 .... but FYI the Gobo (the image that gets projected) only lasted about 6 months before the color faded and the image degraded....

Ran these on all 4 for a few years now, no problems, many people really like them. Some take pictures. They where like 17 dollars. Slightly gaudy, but not too bad

I just have some on my front doors that say "Quattro" and they are still working nicely after about a year, I like them. The puddle lights never really lit much up anyway, so I like giving them some sort of functionality even if it is just looks.

I've had mine for 4 months so far. They were about 15 off ebay, except I got the ones that just had the Audi logo (I thought it was more classy since it didn't have to tell people the brand). It's gotten good reception, and I'd highly recommend them.

Have had my puddle lights for 6 months with no issues. Got them from Amazon. All 4 doors for under 35$ shipped. Love 'em.

This right here. I put yellow Laminex on my headlights. I've had people say it goes perfectly on the red car. I've had other says they hate it I should take them off. I reply OK and can I forward my insurance bill to you as well?

In case anyone was wondering these are the factory ones that fit our cars. Yes they are expensive but they fit perfectly with no adapters etc and they will not fade over time like the aftermarket ones. Again just in case anyone did not mind spending the extra cash.

@cheemn - can buy an awful lot of Amazon or eBay ones as spares for the price of the OEM ones [wrench]; have not had any issues with the ones I fit to my B6 and B7.

Do you guys only use them on the front doors, or all 4 doors? What do the new Audi models do from the factory (2 doors vs. 4 doors)?

As I used the much cheaper eBay ones, I fitted them to all 4 doors. I did search to get ones with different images so I have Audi rings on the front doors and S-Line on my back doors.

Most North America models have plain puddle lights on all doors; if someone orders the Audi OEM ones, they might only fit to the front doors else it's going to be close to $400 for all 4 doors; depends on how flexible your budget is I guess [:D]

Buy OEM from a dealer or just go onto eBay or Aliexpress and do a search for "Audi puddle lights" - lots of hits come up

There is no real substitute for the oem ones. The logo is a proper size, it’s crisp, and they last. Lots of used ones on eBay which I’d sooner do than the aftermarket, none of which look great to me
