My steering has been pretty sloppy and I noticed a couple of my control arm boots are torn, so Iím looking at just replacing them all while Iím in there. A couple years ago everybody recommended the FCP kit for a cost effective package, but it looks like they no long offer it. Anybody have recommendations for a solid kit theyíve used at a lower price? Not trying to spend more than $400, $300 would be even better; but also not wanting to have to replace them again in 12k miles.

Febi / SWAG (but make sure you get the original german kit , not chinese outsource), or you can also opt for cheaper ones but they arent as good I guess, dunno of you got them in NA tbh, but check it out, also if you want absolute quality OEM is TRW or Lemforder.

oh: and VAICO

Cheapest I could find here is called Master Sport Germany, they have 2 year warranty or 80000km, they also have certifications aswell as TUV , they are also cheap but most likely you cant find them in NA.

If you buy it from FCP it is lifetime warranty. It looks like they no longer have their super cheap kit, but they have a FEBI kit for about $400.

I just ordered a Meyle HD kit from FCPEuro for $335. I was going to get the FEBI kit, but couldnít beat that price.

How did you get the Meyle kit for $335? Itís showing $470 for me, are you referencing this kit?: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/audi-volkswagen-vw-suspension-control-arm-kit-s4-a6-a8-passat-meyle-hd-8e0498520#reviews

You should call them up and see if they can do anything. Maybe just kitting the 8 arms you need together (without tie rods) or something. Worth a shot. They are pretty cool guys.

I assume this was the old cheap kit you were talking about (As I bought it for ~$240 4 years ago (It was the Delphi Kit))

Looks like you can still buy all the parts separately for ~$338 (~$308 Without the Suspension Stabilizer Bar Link Kits DEL-TC929 and DEL-TC930, as they dont sell those anymore) Replace those with some other cheaper ones and its probably going to be your cheapest option from FCP to get the lifetime warranty.

I estimate I'm probably over 40-50k on mine and last time I looked at them they all seemed to be alright.

I put over 100k miles on my "OG Group Buy" FCP upper control arms and they still feel great. I am very pleased with how well they've lasted.

*I'm also pretty great at dodging potholes, so YMMV.

Wow that's crazy, i just literally ordered that kit from FCP last month for $200. It was still listed on their website at that time. I guess i got lucky and just ordered mine in time.

Dang started looking at the wrong time. It says backordered so maybe theyíll stock it again, for how little I drive (<7000 miles/year) I have a hard time justifying a premium set

Itís been awhile! Been super caught up with school and internships and stuff. I finally decided that I am going to keep my Audi after college when I buy something more reliable though, so youíll probably start seeing me around more

I had their original kit on my last car for around 60,000 miles. It was great.

I bought the newer kit (ďVaicoĒ) for my recent S4 and it didnít feel as robust. It was good, but it felt cheaper.
