I just bought a prestige A7 TDI with S-line so it has the OEM 20" package on it. I happen to have a SPARE set of 19"x9" BBS LMs in 5x112 sitting in my garage that were on a previous Audi - the tire size is wrong, but before I bothered swapping the tires out I wanted to see some good photos of those cars on nice 19s... My gut says the wheel will be too small even though it's a very nice wheel. It'd need a 275/35/19 tire I think.

The A7's original stock wheels were either 19" or 20" 10 spoke. They looked alright, although I prefer 20 or 21 myself.

I added 22s and staggered them. No additional modification was required...makes for a stiff ride, but they look awesome.

19s are too small even on my s6. I only use them for winter. You can do a baller winter wheel set with those lms, haha.

Agreed. For the 7. 19” imho are too small. 20’s are fine like our stock wheels but I am adamant that 21” is the perfect size. With an added drop and awe touring. 91571 these are pics from my A7 loaner not to long sho with OEM 19” if it helps. I didn’t like the look. When I had an A7 before I used 19” OEM winter tires.

I got my A7 S-line with the 20" wheels. The ride sucked something horrible. Bought a set of S7 19" wheels with 40 series tires. Ride is fine now and car looks MUCH better than with those sucko W design wheels (in my opinion the ugliest wheels Audi ever put on a car). So, if you want the look while parked or in pics, go for the 20 or 21. If you want to actually drive the thing on other than glass smooth roads, get the 19s.

I guess to each his own. I have stock 20’s they are fine and I have 21” wheels with 275/30/21 and I still feel like it drives great. I’m not an aggressive driver so I should preface this however. For the look and the feel 21”
Is the way to go. Just my 2 ¢

Also forgot I have an A7 with coilovers too. Just an FYI

I realize to many the look of 21" alone are the deciding factor but if you're low and flush enough 20s and 19s can look pretty good. I'm also interested in seeing how 19x10.5 with meaty tires and low-ish offset can look.

I just took my S7 for the first drive on IE Stage 1 tune, literally on the way home from getting new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 265/35/20 All Seasons put on, and definitely want the most performance oriented setup vs. just aesthetics alone. By the 3rd turn on my mountain road home I was thinking "these 265 AS ar NOT going to cut it for my desires the rest of the year." Before anyone says "you're just not used to the stage 1 tune" etc. I run 265-295 18's on my 400wtq 3350lb Evo 8 on E85...

Obviously the 33.4lb OEM 20s and the fact that the tires are all seasons aren't optimal for performance, but I am experienced enough with wheel and tire setups to know that as long as tire contact patch is not significantly reduced by going with a relatively smaller diameter and more width and lighter weight, performance is generally improved. Of course larger diameter can also equal larger contact patch at the expense of unsprung weight, inertia, less compliant sidewall (traction for each tire) etc.

Sure the RS7 uses 21" but without the need to fit over the RS7 brakes I am not sure 21" is necessarily a performance improvement in any way over 20." Maybe I am mistaken though?

There are more off the shelf options for lightweight, performance/race oriented wheels in 19 than 20 and 21" also.

So, does anyone have good photos or first hand experience performance comparisons between 19, 20, and 21?
