Hello everyone i have a 2007 B7 with a 2.0, i would like to swap in a 4.2 in with a 00-02 Audi s4 01E 6 Speed Transmission and Quattro system. I was told by Nollywood that if i was using the 01E i needed a B5 A4 V6 manual subframe.

Use this 4.2 and make all the torque you can handle. Custom motor mounts would be super easy, and hacking off the batter tray area wud clearance enough room..... tempting isn’t it.

Hello everyone 2007 B7 4.2, do you need to change the sub frame?

No.

The subframe you’ll need will depend on your choice of transmission.

Your B7 came with a 1.8?

Your B7 came with a 1.8?

UK / Euro spec B7 A4’s had a 1.8T option, though not the same 1.8T as fitted to earlier A4 platforms.

The B7 Audi A4’s for the Jamaican market are UK-specification models.

No way i want it to be all AudiThat 4.2 you want is so unreliable if you want head aches and be filling up and honestly lacks power. If you want to make your car faster go with the V6 biturbo from the B5 S4 tune it and make great power and reliable as hell. Just my opinion.

Really? When did the belt-driven (077-series) V8 become unreliable? Because the engine he’s referring to isn’t the later timing chain (079-series) V8, with it’s fragile chain guides, and propensity for the piston skirts to expand, and score the bores.

Also...when one is looking at installing a V8, there’s more to it than outright power. Low grunt torque, and the sound. If more power is required, the engine can be boosted by one or two fat snails.

Theres no space not even for a single turbo? Lol

Yes i want the older belt driven v8 40 valve engine and yes twin turbo, i am prepared to modify the engine bay. I will be fabricating my own exhaust manifolds. Im planing a twin throttle body intake manifold also. Not even playing forged rods, pistons, double valve springs inconel exhaust valves. planing on porting the heads 1500cc injectors Im calling total seal for the piston rings. Im sold on the v8 i love the sound i want it bad im doing all the work my self cant wait. [wrench]

If you can read wiring diagrams confidently, you’ll be okay, Jeremy.

You can use a C5 RS6 ECU and harness. Or use a modified C5 A6 4.2 harness. By modified, I’m referring to the inclusion of map sensor, EGT x 2 wiring into the existing harness. Then add the pins at the ECU end. Of course you’ll need the map sensor and EGT connectors on the engine side.

You’ll have fun with your ABS module and cluster, as they won’t like the C5 RS6 ECM. This will disable ESP and cruise.

Which is why I have taken a very different route.

I don't have any input but as a Jamaican when I saw your location it made me smile. Hoping you build a wicked beast!
