View Full Version : DV issues?

So I just bought a new DV from ECS Tuning and replaced it the other day. One thing I have noticed, thinking it was the DV before but still having the same issue, is when I am accelerating enough to generate boost I can hear what I believe is the DV releasing pressure under constant throttle. This causes a noticeable surging under acceleration.

I thought it may be the wastegate but the releases are not constant. They are intermittent. Car accelerated fine for a sec, hear some DV noise, acceleration stops for less than a second, then accelerates fine again. In a 0-60 pull it may do this 6-7 times.

I have VCDS and can run a log but don’t know which blocks to provide. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

A boost guage would really help you see exactly what the boost is doing.

Logging boost with VCDS, which he said he can do, is the best way to see what’s really going on.

Op, log block 003, 115 and 119 at the same time, full throttle from 1500-7000 in 2nd or 3rd gear in turbo mode.

003 will tell you RPM and throttle position percentage
115 will tell you actual and requested boost
119 will tell you N75 duty cycle.

And always start boost related diagnosis with a simple boost leak test.

yes I understand what I meant is before you get to the point of logging. If you have a boost guage in the car then you would know that the boost is building but not holding. You would know right away that something is up. I just mean it would be a faster way to realize there's a problem.
