So long story short I crossed over 75k miles on the car about a month ago (closer to 76k now). I want to bring the car in for its 75k service but I do not think I will have the opportunity to do so until a month or so. By that time the car will probably be closer to 80k miles. I know the DSG Flush is a big part of this service as well but I’m not sure how close this has to be done to 75k miles. Do the other parts of the service (belt checks, etc) have to be done as close to 75k as well?

I did an oil change no more than 1,500 miles ago so I’m not worried about that as of yet. Can anyone chime in as to what they got done for their 75k service and how much it ran them?

Thank you!

I mean I'm sure your car will be fine but DSG service isn't something you should be postponing considering how many people have problems with the DSG..

I had 75k done at the dealer and it was a little over a grand.
You can actually purchase the 75k and 85k service together through Audi and it will save you a considerable amount of money, so I think that would be your best bet.

The only part of the 75k service I'd consider having the dealer do is the DSG. Everything else is standard stuff. In fact, I may have my indy shop do the DSG, if they have done it before. This isn't rocket surgery.

I just did the DSG service and its not that bad at all. There's no speciality tools and there is a DIY on the forum. All you gotta do is spend about 3-5 hours and get the service kit from ECS tunning. If you are mechanically inclined than this service is a walk in the park.

DSG Service for B8.5 Audi S4 (OB5) 7 Speed DIY (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kj69XxnZ8B4)

Also, somebody was selling a DSG service kit for $160 here on the S4 Classifieds section.

It really is super easy. If you decide to DIY, get new pan bolts. M6 x 20. Qty 15.

Suggestions:

1. Make sure you buy the 15 bolts that hold the pan up
2. If your vehicle has the side filter housing that make sure to buy a new filter and o-ring.
3. Either use a car lift or put the car on four jacks as you need the car leveled when filling the DSG with fluid. Follow the DIY when refilling. My car took about 6 quarts but I took out the DSG and did the repair kit. Most people get between 5-6 quarts.
4. Buy an eletric fluid pump make refilling super easy. I bought one from Harbor Freight for about $10 plus the batteries it used.

That's assuming you do the internal filter/strainer, which the dealer doesn't do and I didn't do. Just changing the external filter and the process is down to 30 minutes.

I agree. I just changed the oil 1k miles ago. Changed the spark plugs no more than 5k ago too. Really think the DSG is one of the only things I’d let the dealer do too since the rest is basic maintenance.
