Hello, I know this topic has been discussed so many times and I've tried to get responses in the stupid questions thread but no luck.

I'm looking for a suggestion on rear breaking pads which will be a good combo with ECS 330mm two-piece drilled/slotted rotors.

Calipers are stock. I'm not tracking. Want quiet, low-dust, with a good bite and good for occasional spirited driving ones.

(Considering all info I've processed so far I'm thinking about Hawks 5.0)

Thank you!

No such animal for no dust AND good bite. I have the EBC reds with the same rotors on all 4 corners. They are quiet, and are less than half as dusty as stock, but do not bite hard as stock until they get warm (so hard/ emergency braking is fantastic).

The other battle you are fighting is the fact that drilled and slotted rotors have less surface area for the pads to grip. It a trade off surface area, for cooling and reduced rotational mass.

I really like Akebono pads. They are incredibly low dust and have good bite. I know others have said they aren't as good as other brands in the bite department but honestly, they stop on a dime.

i wish brembo were making a set for the rear.. the one in the front has the same bite as audi oem, but less dust.. how do i know ? my audi oem rear always make my rims more grey after a week than the front.

Same.

I run posiquiets rear and their meh more dust than I'd like.

Thinking of trying some ebcs or something else that isnt akebono as those are trash from past experiences

Akebono Carbon. More progressive than OEM, quiet and extremely low dust.

I would suggest you try the Porterfield R4S Pads (https://www.porterfield-brakes.com/images/portstrt2008_11_06_02_45_30.pdf) - They are designed with EXACTLY that combination in mind....[:p] I've used EBCs / Hawks for years but these blow them all away.....[:D][:)] Only pad I'll run now for any vehicle I own. Downside is they are expeeeensssiiiive....[:o][:(]

Does it make sense putting those on the rear?

Just had a spirited drive today and tons of shaking going on while braking and then saw that my two front rotors have cracks [emoji28][emoji28] but my rears are good. Its my weekend car and drive it very aggressive at least once a week in my backyard twistiest. I bought the car with drilled rotors (dont know the brand). I installed 034 density lower and upper control arms so its definitely the brakes/rotors that are causing the issue.

Yup - as warned not cheap[headbang] - but they really work as described in performance as well as low dust - so if that's what you are after it's worth it....

I run Stop Tech Cryo Rotors - also not cheap - but again worth the $$$ to ensure no brake issues - took me a long time with multiple pad / rotor combinations to find this one works best...

My DSM was horrible went through rotors / pads like crazy..... My Camaro has had good luck with EBC and a specialty rotor.... But this combo is even better - and had no issues on heavy AWD cars with 300+ HP (Modded Suby and S4)..... I do also run Stainless Lines now as well - but that just helps to keep brake feel linear IMHO - shouldn't really effect pad rub off (that warped rotor feel)....

Sweet purchased the stoptech rotors slotted and stainless steel lines! I have a ton of pad life left on the OEM and will upgrade to these afterwards!

Eventually bought HPS 5.0 on BF sale from ECS. Will see how they'll perform with those rotors.

I recently bought the Porterfields. I'll be moving from the 5.0 pad to those.
