Is this going to do anything? Or is it a fancy piece of aluminum no one will see?

I personally wouldn't bother, also I think it might make cats even hotter by blocking air flow?

I cannot imagine that actually doing anything to stiffen the body of the car.

Curious as I'm shopping for part.
anyone went with this piece? Seems like i never heard one single person installing this piece. I'm also concern about the exhaust hitting this thicker piece and rattling?

a gap patch? lol
I have this installed. Yes it is pretty (I have the black one) and no I don’t think it increases support. It doesn’t sit any higher than the oem brace so there should be no issues with exhaust clearance. The increased thickness sits below the brace, not above. I purchased this knowing it was just for appearance purposes. It does look nice, if you are under the car lol.

This is a small piece toward the rear of the exhaust. It’s not the tunnel cover, just a replacement for the oem brace.

Does this brace even do anything at all? I am getting a loud crack noise going over speed bumps or entering a higher driveway at an angle and JHM says my exhaust (Capristo) is striking this bar. They tried spacing it out a bit but I still hear the noise so they recommend removing it entirely, as they don't see it serving any real purpose.
Anyone else experience anything like this?

Its only purpose in my eyes would be to catch a driveshaft or exhaust if a linkage decided to fail.

i have some front end clanks in situations you described and it seems unlikely to me that that's where it would be hitting... what if you temporarily put something soft over, removed it entirely or wrapped that section of exhaust in header wrap to see if the noice changes? just a few ideas

The bar has a bunch of impact marks on it (it has a softer piece to it, I believe) - they tried spacing it out with some washers. They want to remove it to see if the sound goes away, I guess no harm trying that to isolate the cause of the noise.
